The English District has launched a new model for funding missions in which every congregation is invited to participate. It involves every baptized member of the Body of Jesus in your congregation. It shows how much can be accomplished by many, giving little.
Here's the plan: $1/per baptized member/per week.

God loves a cheerful giver
A Dollar for Missions has been adopted by Morning Star, Lakeside, CA. Here we see two of God's children cheerfully placing their dollar bills in the mission offering box.

Volunteers from Peace, O'Fallon, MO showed their love for God by serving their community at a recent concert. They offered rock painting for the kids of all ages and provided snacks & bottled water on a warm summer evening.

The middle school & high school students and faculty of Redeemer, Oakmont, PA went on a retreat to
Camp Allegheny.
They focused on team building, Bible study, leadership, service, responsibility, and wisdom. On their way home they visited the Flight 93 Memorial
in Somerset, PA.

Bienvenidos - Welcome!
Children returned for the first day of school at Concordia Lutheran Preschool in Licey, Dominican Republic. The school is supported through the English District partnership with Dominican Republic Lutheran Mission and is the sister school of Ascension Early Child Care Center, Beverly Hills, MI.

Spreading God's love
St. John's, Pembroke, ON, Canada held their SPLASH Canyon Vacation Bible School with 96 children attending and over 40 volunteers assisting. The children brought in hygiene items for local shelters and hospitals as their mission project. Over 450 items were collected! Although a short term solution to the bigger problem of homelessness and poverty, it was one small way the VBS children could spread God's love.

2018-2019 District Grade and Enrollment sheets were emailed to all schools on August 16, 2018 for updating. By informing the English District office of updates you help us maintain the most current and correct information, and keep us up-to-date on all rostered and non-rostered staff. Contest!
Show off your photography talents by submitting a recent picture of your LCMS church. LCEF will pick the top three favorite photos and announce the winners throughout the week of September 10 on their Facebook page. Top prize is a $100 Visa gift card.

Gift Planning Training

The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod Foundation's Lifetime Plan for Giving courses equip participants to develop a biblical gift-planning service within your stewardship ministry landscape. It is offered several times a year in different locations across the country. This training is for leaders (paid and unpaid) who want to encourage people in their generosity beyond the offering plate or periodic campaigns. Attendees will develop confidence to guide people to fulfill their goals for the people and ministries they love. Course attendees will each receive a certificate of attendance and be eligible for a Christian Gift Planner (CGP) certificate upon successful completion of a guided field experience.

Prayerfully Consider Visit
October 17-20, 2018

The Prayerfully Consider Visit invites men and women of all ages to explore the pastoral and diakonal training happening at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, IN (CTSFW), and gives a time for contemplation on the vocations of pastor and deaconess, offering an occasion for prospective students to envision themselves stepping into the formation happening at Concordia Theological Seminary.

National Youth Gathering
The LCMS Youth Gathering provides thousands of youth and adults the opportunity to come together as a community of God's people to learn about Jesus Christ,
the Christian faith and their Lutheran identity.
The Gathering will be held July 11-15, 2019 in Minneapolis, MN.
Congregations may begin entering registration information online September 5, 2018.
