For your convenience, Fremont Township is hosting our annual Recycle-O-Rama.
Mark your calendar for Saturday, September 22 from 9 am til noon.
This year we will be accepting:

American Flags
Bicycles
Cell Phones
Christmas Tree Lights
Clothing (Belts, Scarves, Hats and Purses, Bed and Table Linens and Towels
gently used or worn clothing and textiles accepted. Please bag them}
Electronics
Eye Glasses
Fire Extinguishers
Hearing Aids
Keys
Shoes (please tie together or rubber band together)
Stuffed Animals
Yarn

Three bankers boxes of paper for shredding will be accepted until the truck is full. You must make sure there are no binders, clips or paperclips because they jam the truck. We won't be able to take your shredding if you haven't removed them. Our goal is to move people through as quickly as possible so we can not allow you to remove them here.

The event is at the Fremont Township Complex. Enter off of Erhart Road. If anyone is looking for volunteer opportunities, please call Nancy at 847 223-2847 to register to help.

Team Up For Blood Drive
Mundelein residents are invited to participate in the upcoming Fall Blood Drive and make a difference for someone in need. The Blood Drive will be held on Saturday, September 1 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Mundelein Fire Station #1 1000 N. Midlothian Road – walk-in donations are most welcomed.
Route 53 Extension Project to Host Second Public Open House
The Illinois Tollway invites residents to attend a second Public Open House meeting regarding the Route 53 Extension Project—now referred to as the “Tri-County Access Project.” The Tri-County Access Project seeks to address transportation challenges in northern Cook, Lake and eastern McHenry Counties

The Public Open House will be held on September 6 and interested parties can stop by anytime between 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Concorde Banquets, 20922 N. Rand Road in Kildeer. There will be no formal presentation. This meeting will be identical to the first open house public meeting held in Lakemoor, as part of the ongoing effort to provide opportunities for all interested parties throughout the 1,000-mile study area to attend, learn about, and provide input on the Tri-County Access Project. Second Property Tax Installment Due September 6
The second installment due date of 2017 Lake County property taxes is approaching.
Health Department Offers Reduced Water Testing Through Sept 7
The Lake County Health Department is offering a reduced water testing fee for homeowners who use well water as their primary drinking water source. The Health Department encourages all users of private wells to have their drinking water tested at least annually to ensure it meets the minimum drinking water standards.

Between August 27 and September 7, 2018, the normal $18.00 analysis fee for the standard drinking water test will be reduced to $12.00. Sterile test bottles and sampling instructions are available at the Fremont Township Administrative Office at 22385 Route 60. Call before you come to make sure we have the test kits. 847 223-2847

Residents must drop off collected water samples to the Lake County Central Permit Facility between 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Results of water samples are ready for homeowners in approximately three business days. If people are uncomfortable collecting these samples themselves, Health Department staff members are available to collect the sample for a $58.00 fee, which also includes an inspection of the well and lab analysis. Eighth Annual Mundelein Arts Festival Set for September 8-9
Mundelein Community Connection and the Mundelein Park District proudly present the Eighth Annual Mundelein Fine Arts Festival, a juried art festival showcasing the talents of 45 fine artists and craftspeople who work in a variety of media. The event will be held September 8-9 2018, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, at Kracklauer Park in downtown Mundelein, 100 N. Seymour Ave. Admission is free. More information

In celebration of the Illinois Bicentennial, the 2015 LINCOLN FUNERAL CAR will be on display and available for tours daily from Aug 25-Sept 9. Civil War soldiers and civilians will be on hand on Labor Day weekend and a free concert will be given by the Regimental Volunteer Band of Wisconsin on Saturday, September 1 at 2:00 pm at the Bandshell adjacent to the railcar site at 839-845 Main Street, Antioch, Illinois. Admission to the car will be $5.00 per person. There will be no advanced ticket sales. The METRA station is an easy one block walk from the car. Join them on Wednesday, September 12 from 11 am – 12 pm when the Mundelein Police Department will be there to educate about scams, especially those prevalent in our area. Those over the age of 60 are more likely to lose money due to a financial scam than someone in their 40s. To avoid becoming victims of fraud scams, it is important to understand what schemes and tactics are commonly used and how these schemes might affect you. Everyone is a potential target, because fraud isn’t limited by race, ethnic background, gender, age, education, or income. Protect yourself with information! Please sign up at the Center.

If you know neighbors in need, please let them know there is a mobile food pantry on Monday, September 17 at 4:00 pm at 1 N Seymour. If they live in Fremont Township, please let them know we have a food pantry that they are welcome to use.

Request Your Ballot By Mail For the November 6 Election
Just a reminder that early voting will be at our Fremont Township Office from now on, but if you would like to vote by mail you can now order your ballot.

Lake County residents correctly registered with their current name and address can now request a ballot by mail for the Nov. 6, 2018 election. This is an ideal voting option for snowbirds, students away at school, and those who will be traveling on Election Day as your ballot can be mailed anywhere. Completed applications must be submitted to the Clerk’s Office by noon Nov. 1 . According to Illinois state statute, ballots cannot be mailed to the voters until late September.

Are you aware of the county radio station?Highway Advisory Radio 1620 AM communicates real time traffic information directly to Lake County motorists. Broadcast information includes location of delays due to crashes, construction and extreme traffic congestion to help motorists in planning their commute. 
Referendum for Single Waste Hauler For Unincorporated Fremont Township Residents
At our July board meeting, the Fremont Board of Trustees voted to place a question on the November Ballot to allow the board to contract with a single waste hauler in unincorporated Fremont Township. If passed, this would apply only to residential areas.

The ballot question presented to voters would read as follows:

Shall the Township Board of Fremont Township, Lake County Illinois,                               
be authorized to exercise the powers of the “Township Refuse Collection 
and Disposal Act” as provided in Article 210 of the Township Code, 60 
ILCS 1/210-5,  et. seq ., to enter into a contract for the collection, disposal,                           
composting or recycling of garbage, refuse and ashes within the 
unincorporated area of the Township?
