During the summer, we have the opportunity to welcome four guest preachers to our pulpit. This Sunday, we welcome Rev. Ligon Duncan, who is is the chancellor and CEO of Reformed Theological Seminary and the John E. Richards Professor of Systematic and Historical Theology. Please see our website's News page or our homepage for more information about these four pastors as well as our preaching schedule for the summer.

Summer Bible School Electives

This Sunday, we begin three weeks of special elective studies led by  our own pastors as well as guest pastors and leaders. Information, including a list and descriptions of the studies, as well as where they will meet is available by clicking here . We hope that you will find a study of interest to you!

Faithful Conference: Mark Your Calendar!
September 21-22
Don't miss our first annual Faithful Conference, which will be held on Friday and Saturday, September 21 and 22, with guest speaker Al Mohler. The conference will include large group gatherings as well as breakout sessions on different topics. Look for more information to be available on the Faithful Conference website (faithfulconference.org) beginning August 1.

Men's Intensive Discipleship Program (MIDP) Summer Study
Thursdays in August | 7-8:30 PM
Our next study in our Men's Intensive Discipleship Program will be on Thursdays in August in the Community Life Center chapel. All men are invited to this five-week program, where Pastor Brian Peterson will delve deep into church history. There is no fee for this study. RSVP to Jennifer Dean ( [email protected] or 704-708-6104). You can also contact her with any questions. More information is on the Men's page of our website.

Theological Reading Group
September 12, October 10, and November 15 | 7 PM
In partnership with the RTS Paideia Center for Theological Discipleship, Christ Covenant will be hosting a theological reading group this fall and spring.

Do you desire a rich theological diet so you can develop maturityin Christ? Do you want to read Christian classics but don't know where to start? Would you like to grow with people who share your love for theology and learn from those who have gone before you? If so, go to paideiacenter.com and sign up at the (very) bottom of the webpage to be notified when registration opens.

The fall group will meet September 12, October 10, and November 15 at 7 PM in room WC-105. Blair Smith will lead a discussion of Gregory of Nazianzus's Theological Orations, which were influential behind the trinitarian theology of the Nicene Creed we recite in worship.

Women's DIY Day: Registration Opens August 1
Saturday, October 13 | 8:30 AM - 2 PM
Registration opens August 1 for our first annual D.I.Y. Day, which will be held Saturday, October 13 from 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. D.I.Y. Day is an event where women can learn useful and fun new skills while forming friendships over shared interests. There are three workshop sessions to attend and a wonderful catered lunch with a program designed to encourage and inspire women in every season and situation of life. The cost is $35 and includes the workshops, lunch, and speaker. See christcovenant.org/diy2018 for details.

Vendors Wanted: We are looking for women who make handmade items to be vendors at our DIY day on October 13.  Please contact Andrea Johnson for more information.

Youth Summer Programming
MS Bible Study (Tuesdays at 6:30 PM): All rising 6th graders through rising 8th graders are invited for Bible study with hands-on applications. We end our time with games. Meet in the CLC Youth Center from 6:30-8:30 PM.
 
HS Summer Nights
(Wednesdays at 7 PM): All rising 9th graders through 2018 graduates are invited for Bible study and then ultimate Frisbee. Meet in the CLC Youth Center at 7 PM. After Bible study, we walk to the Fullwood Field (lacrosse field) for Ultimate Frisbee until 9 PM. (*If students would like to join us afterwards at Arboretum Chick-fil-A for a late night snack, then pick up will be at the Arboretum at 10 PM.)

Women's Fall Bible Studies:
Registration Open
Studies begin in September
Registration is now open for our fall session of Bible studies for women, which will begin in September. There are weekly and once-a-month studies to choose from, as well as small group options and new Mercy Ministry groups.. For information about these small groups opportunities, please see the Women's Bible Studies webpage.
 

GET INVOLVED: OUTREACH 

 
ProjectSHARE Summer Collection:
School Supplies
During the summer months of July and August, ProjectSHARE will be collecting general school supplies to share with our school partners. We appreciate any and all donated school supplies. If you need a few ideas, we suggest: crayons, scissors, composition books, #2 pencils, filler paper, markers, 3x5 ruled index cards, glue sticks, colored pencils, assorted colored copy paper, Clorox disinfecting wipes, and hand sanitizer. This information is also available on our ProjectSHARE webpage. Please bring your donations to the Information Desk in the worship center any Sunday in July or August.

Short-term Mission Trip Opportunity
December 11-17, 2018
Join us for our December 2018 Kenya Camp trip! We are in the process of building a team of 4-5 individuals to help with their annual youth camp, under the leadership and teaching of our own intern Marcus Smith. The only requirement necessary is a love for young people and having fun while sharing the love of Christ. We are also looking for someone to lead the music during the large group sessions. If you are interested or have questions, please contact Karen Chambers at [email protected].
