Take the Clinical Social Work Survey
|
NASW-NJ is working with the NJ Department of Human Services to explore the possibility of LCSWs becoming approved as independent behavioral health care providers under Medicaid/NJ Family Care. This recognition of LCSWs' skills and training as mental health professionals is long overdue.
In order to move forward with this process, we will need to provide information about the number of LCSWs in NJ who would choose to become Medicaid providers and the estimated number of Medicaid clients who would be served by these providers.
If you are an LCSW in NJ or are working towards your LCSW, please take a moment to complete this important survey to assist us in gathering the required information. You can access the survey here.

Governor Murphy signed into law legislation that will require health care professionals, including social workers, to help keep firearms away from clients who may harm themselves or others. The legislation (
A1181
) strengthens existing Duty to Warn or Protect law and requires clinicians to notify local police if a client makes a credible threat of violence, or is deemed to be a threat of violence, against themselves or others.
We've prepared
a
Tip Sheet to help social workers understand the new reporting requirements. The information is also available under the "Clinical SW" drop-down on our
Website.
