Housing Supply Panel Report
  
The bilateral Expert Panel on Housing Supply and Affordability has released an interim "What We Heard" report following initial stakeholder consultations. The Panel is now accepting feedback on the report until January 15, 2021 and will deliver a final report to Canada and BC in the Spring of 2021. Read more 
National Disaster Mitigation Program Funding 
  
The National Disaster Mitigation Program (NDMP) is currently accepting proposals from local governments seeking to understand and address flood risk. Interested parties have until midnight on January 7, 2021 to submit a proposal and supporting documentation to Emergency Management BC (EMBC). Read more 
New Poverty Reduction intake announced
  
A new intake for the Poverty Reduction Planning and Action program has been announced by the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction. The new intake deadline is March 5, 2021. Read more 
Kitselas - Terrace Collaboration
  
The City of Terrace and Kitselas First Nation have built a relationship through years of collaboration. Theirs is one of the stories featured in Pathways to Collaboration, a project to showcase the growing number of successful economic development collaborations and partnerships between First Nations and local governments in BC.  
Electoral Area Directors' Forum registration and agenda  
  
The Electoral Area Directors' Forum will be held virtually on February 2 and 3, 2021. Registration is open. Delegates who also attend LGLA on February 3 and 4 will receive a $25 discount on the LGLA registration. The preliminary agenda is posted on the UBCM website, and will be updated as speakers are confirmed.
 
2021 LGLA Virtual Leadership Forum   
  
The Local Government Leadership Academy has announced that Nora Young, CBC Radio Talk Show Host and author of the book the "The Virtual Self" will be the keynote speaker at the Annual Leadership Forum to be held February 3-4. Read more
