2018-2019 Tuition Schedule

MAY CROWNING
Our school will hold its annual May Procession and Crowning Prayer Service on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 in the cafeteria. As in the past, our 2nd grade students will process in their First Communion outfits along with our eighth grade students in their "Sunday best." Our statue of Our Lady of Fatima will be crowned as we prayerfully remember Mary's role as Queen of Heaven and Earth. The Prayer Service begins at 9:00 a.m. Parents, as always, are invited to attend.

FACTS TUITION RE-ENROLLMENT

Most Blessed Sacrament is once again using the FACTS Payment Program. You will soon be receiving information from FACTS Tuition about the re-enrollment process. Your original agreement authorizes FACTS to roll over your information from one year to the next. Please be aware that no payments or fees will come out of your account until after the tuition rates have been added. You will need to contact FACTS  if you wish to change your method of payment, your plan name and/or your address. If you want to make any changes to whether you pay quarterly, monthly or in full, please return the FACTS document to the school As Soon As Possible. We will be adding the tuition rates to each account after June 1, which will complete the process. Changes to enrollment status will be made at that time.

ALL FAMILIES MUST BE ENROLLED IN FACTS BEFORE JUNE 1! In order for payments to run 10 months, FACTS must have the information a full month in advance.

Should you select the one time payment plan and DO NOT make the payment by September 1st, MBS will automatically change your plan to a 10 month schedule and you will be charged a fee.

STREAM NIGHT
On Wednesday, May 23rd our school will host its annual S.T.R.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) Night (Visual Arts and Science Fair exhibit) at 6:00 p.m. in the school hall. We would like to extend an invitation to our community to visit the art and science show to see the many wonderful creations that our students have produced. Come and join us as we celebrate the wonderful accomplishments of our students at MBSCS.

REMINDER: this is the night the winner of the Car Raffle will be announced.
While we firmly believe that all assessment data is valuable in evaluating student growth and in the instructional planning process, we must keep in mind that this particular testing experience was new for our students and our teachers. This administration of the Renaissance Star was an opportunity for teachers and students to gain insight into the requirements of the tests.

SPRING PIANO RECITAL
The end of year Spring Piano Recital will take place at 6:00 p.m. on May 30th in the cafeteria. Please join us.

PROUD MOMENT
purple-graphic-fireworks.gif On Wednesday, May 9th a representative from Jesse's Paddle, a suicide prevention program, visited our eighth grade class to present material on suicide prevention. Mr. Ron Pilling sent the following after his visit to our school. We are rightfully proud.

Dear Mark,
It is always a privilege to meet with the 8th grade students at MBS and we're grateful for the opportunity. Thanks for opening your doors to us.

I told Theresa yesterday as we were leaving that someday I'd like to return just to wander the halls and look at everything hanging in them. So much of what I see resonates with me, and with the message we bring to the school. The hallways are bright, colorful, welcoming and above all, creative. Yesterday I saw student work based on artist Keith Haring, for instance. I'm not a big pop art fan, but Haring's work takes it to a different level, above Warhol's soup cans. Haring often conveys a message of inclusion and understanding, and is a great artist-role model.

Congratulations on the student body and the faculty who have devoted themselves to MBS. We look forward to returning in the next school year.

Sincerely,
Ronald W. Pilling, Secretary/Treasurer
Jesse's Paddle

ACTION ALERT FOR MARYLAND FAMILIES OF MBSCS
The Maryland BOOST Program is a state sponsored tuition support initiative for families who reside in Maryland and choose to have their children attend nonpublic schools in Maryland. BOOST is funded by private donations from donors who receive tax incentives for their donations. All Maryland resident MBS families who have reenrolled or have newly enrolled their children are encouraged to review the eligibility requirements for the Maryland BOOST Program (refer to the Parent Survey that accompanies this communication) and complete the application if they may be eligible. Eligibility follows the guidelines for free and reduced meals that is also used to determine our school's federal funding for Title II-Part A, Title I and Title V. A flyer from the Maryland State Department of Education that provides details for completing the BOOST application process is accompanying this communication. Please see the flyer from the MSDE for the link to the application.  BOOST Flyer

In order to assist families in determining if they may be eligible for tuition support through the BOOST Program, we are including the Parent Survey which families complete in September of each school year. If after reviewing the Parent Survey, you feel that you may qualify for BOOST funding, please complete the application and submit it before May 21, 2018. Parents do not need to complete the Parent Survey at this time as it is provided as a guide to assist in determining possible eligibility for BOOST. Family Survey

Vision Statement

Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic School provides rigorous and technologically relevant instruction that is intentionally integrated with Catholic identity.  Together, as Pastors, administrators, teachers and parents, we nurture the development of the mind, the body, and the soul, in each of our students.  Our students are able to make sound decisions based upon the teachings of Jesus Christ and modeled upon the lives of the saints.  As a faith and learning community, we teach students a passion for the truth and a love for discovery and knowledge. Our students are prepared to relate their Catholic faith to their culture and actively live their faith as members of the greater community.
