ISOPP Advancing Cancer Care
I hope you like the new format for the Newsletter, as we combine the quarterly newsletter with the bi-monthly “Staying in Touch news from the Secretariat” into one regular member communication.
Communication is key to achieving ISOPP’s mission of advancing cancer care globally. We currently have a volunteer force of 76 members,
and that excludes the 19 members who responded to the recent call to join the Biosimilars Task Force. With 24% of the membership actively engaged in volunteer opportunities, we are well on our way to having the expertise needed for our journey to achieve our mission.

Oncology Pharmacy Practice in Outpatient Setting in China
More and more pharmacists are changing their job focus from dispensing to patient oriented service. Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center is a specialist hospital, with 1300 beds, and a huge patient volume at nearly 3000 per day. Having nearly 70 patients to see in 3 hours, the doctors are always in a hurry, they have less than 3 minutes to explain to each patient. However, patents are always confused about their regimens and medications, especially for those first visitors.

ISOPP's 2018 Symposium: Where East meets West
My first ISOPP experience in Shanghai was an eye-opener and I got to learn a lot about oncology pharmacy. Besides that, I thought what stood out was the session on Chinese medicine in cancer treatment, given how the theme aligns with the venue of the symposium.
