It's a tribute to South Texas Swing of yesterday at Twin Sisters Dance Hall in Blanco Saturday night. Enjoy the music of the New Pearl Wranglers and Red River Rangers. Or polka on Saturday night to the Red Ravens at the Happy Cousins Dance Club dance in Rosenberg. Church picnic alert: Ascension Parish in Moravia on Sunday with Mark Halata & Texavia and The Moravians.

Also this weekend: Two public performances by SqueezeBox with Mollie B and Ted Lange. Friday night's fundraiser for the Brazosport Food Pantry in Brazoria is sold out, and only about 30 tickets remain for the dance at Flag Hall in Cyclone on Sunday. Call 254-985-2258 before you head to the hall...Another fundraiser, Battle for Hunger, is planned for Friday night in Sweet Home with Charles & Fab 4...Make plans to attend the Fayette County Opry on Monday night in La Grange f eaturing Rocky King, Dana Rowan, and 13-year-old Wyatt Aleman.

A man and his wife were having a disagreement about who should brew the coffee each morning.    
The wife said, "You should do it because you get up first, and then we don't have to wait as long to get our coffee."
The husband said, "You are in charge of cooking around here and you should do it, because that is your job, and I can just wait for my coffee."
Wife replies, "No, you should do it, and besides, it is in the Bible that the man should do the coffee."    
Husband replies, "I can't believe that, show me."    
So she fetched the Bible, and opened the New Testament and showed him at the top of several pages, that it indeed says " HEBREWS."
