Trailer Parade Update

On August 4th we will once again be participating in the Old Soldiers Day parade in Alpharetta, GA. Those traveling from out of town have made reservations at:
 HYATT PLACE ATLANTA PERIMETER CENTER
Anyone that wants to ride on the truck will need to meet at that hotel at 7:00AM the morning of the 4th. We will be throwing candy to the kids so please bring some and join in. I will have a cooler with ice so if you want to bring something to drink there will be room. We will be stopping at American Legion Post 201 after the parade to have Varsity hot dogs and cold beverages. The trailer will not be open for tours as it will be in the process of being readied for the trip to Branson. If you would like to join us please let me know. You can email me at: trailerguy@usswainwright.org or call my cell 803/984-6327.
Additional Upcoming Trailer events are:
November 4th: Veteran's Day Parade Charleston, SC
November 10th: Veteran's Day Parade Charlotte, NC
November 12th: Veteran's Day Parade Columbia, SC
Ships Store

In the short time since our last update, Richard and Kurt have completed the update of the information on the website. Photographs of all items as well as pricing are now included.   Please take a moment to look over the items to see what is available.
We will suspend fulfillment of orders as of September 1 so that Kurt can take inventory, pack everything up and take it to Rock Hill, SC so Richard can load it into the trailer for the trip to Branson.
Website

The membership roster has been replaced with a new version which includes the date that dues expire.   Please review and if you are not current, please send in your dues payment.   Only current, paid dues members may vote during the business meeting in Branson.   The memorial list has also been updated.
Agent Orange and VA Benefits

We continue to search Naval and historical records so we may provide documentary evidence of being in the waters affected by dioxin during the three deployments to Viet Nam.   When complete, information will be added to the website.
Reunion Update

The deadline for registrations to avoid a late fee is August 15, now less than 30 days away. Shortly after, we will have to advise the hotel and tour operators of our numbers so food can be ordered, buses arranged, etc.   C'mon, shipmates, make it a great Navy day and get yours submitted!
Trailer Donations
The USS Wainwright Veterans Association is a 501(c) 3 non-profit association of men who served aboard any of the three USS Wainwright ships. Our association exists to keep alive the memory of all vessels named Wainwright. With our mobile museum we educate the public about what our sailors have accomplished, and or completed while onboard any of the ship's named Wainwright. This mobile museum also promotes the United States Navy and Americanism, but we cannot do this without your support. We need your donations to support cost of operating this one of a kind teaching tool. Your donations are 100% tax deductible so please be generous and help us keep our museum going. Donations can be made on our web site http://www.usswainwright.org/donate/
