JANUARY 2018
NEW YEAR WRAP UP
In 2017 we built homes on the Gulf Coast of Florida, the Niagara Escarpment in Canada, the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Ohio River Valley, and across the great plains in Iowa and Michigan.

We spent weeks in the wind swept high plains, the Front Range of the Rockies and in the high altitude ski country of the Continental Divide.

From the Colorado Sunbelt in San Juan National Forest to the "Crown Of The Continent" in Glacier National Park, to our own Lake Erie Basin, we spent our year working with an exceptionally diverse, amazing bunch of clients. THANKS to you all!

FROM GORGEOUS TO EVEN GREENER
This year Timberbuilt partnered with Trautman Associates to provide pre-construction home energy analysis for every home we build. By adding Trautman's 3-D energy modeling and real time climate simulators to our design process we're able to calibrate the requirements for our homes' climate control systems with more accuracy than ever before.

The result -- a super-insulated, airtight enclosure with a right-sized HVAC -- maximizes the entire system's potential.

Trautman challenged themselves with reworking their analysis models to match our SIPs system, yielding more accurate results to precisely match the HVAC system size to the particular house. By reducing the size of your mechanicals -- sometimes by as much as 50% -- up-front costs and home operating expenses decrease and we're finding more instances where the use of energy renewables makes sense.

Trautman and Timberbuilt are trying to be aggressive about right-sized, comfort driven HVAC systems, to educate our clients about their options, and to build more high-performance homes that are designed to make renewables a realistic, cost-effective option.

Trautman has the ability to completely design and spec every aspect of your HVAC system.

TIMBERBUILT CANADA
Brent and Gayle Montgomery, our Canadian Timberbuilt representatives, work closely with all of our potential clients to the north to facilitate our services across the border.

This year, the Montgomerys worked with Larry and Mary-Ann Stewart in Shelburne, Ontario. The Stewarts chose to build a modified version of our Marshal timber frame design for their dream home. The Stewarts are a hands-on couple with a DIY spirit. Larry acted as the general contractor, Mary-Ann covered the logistics, and they've continued to work on their home as the new year begins.
