Bishop Eaton Responds to Supreme Court Decision on Travel Ban
Thus says the Lord: Act with justice and righteousness, and deliver from the hand of the oppressor anyone who has been robbed. And do no wrong or violence to the alien, the orphan, and the widow ... (Jeremiah 22:3).
I am dismayed by the Supreme Court's recent decision concerning the president's authority to restrict travel into the United States. It applies to travelers from certain countries based on those countries' inability to provide information necessary for immigration vetting.

Bishop Eaton Responds to U.S. Policy on Family Separation
The forced separation of children from their parents is unnecessarily cruel, further traumatizing families who have already suffered in their countries of origin and on the dangerous journey to the U.S. The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and its predecessor church bodies have a long history of caring for children, families and refugees. Lead Musician at Covenant, Houston
Covenant Lutheran is sad to announce that our director of worship and music, Rebecca McDonald, is leaving us. Rebecca has been prayerful and deliberate about this change in the course of her ministry to the church, and as a congregation, we affirm her need to make this change at this time. Rebecca's life-long commitment to worship and music in congregational settings has blessed many over the years, and we pray God's richest blessings as she takes on new challenging roles in her personal life.
Covenant is picking up the pace on a search for a leading musician. We are open to conversation with anyone who is interested in exploring this opportunity to serve. Referrals are welcome. We are taking a flexible approach to filling this position, since we know that skills and approaches vary. A draft job description will follow an initial conversation with Pastor Ele. Please email Pastor Ele or call and leave a message at: (281) 698-0681. Thank you.
