New Year Message by Professor Tamerler
Dear TASSA Friends,
With 2020 coming to a close, we can all agree that it has been an incredibly challenging year. 2020 will be remembered as a year of historical turmoil, from the terrifying pandemic to long-overdue demands for racial justice and economic distress for so many. It seems an appropriate time to reflect and to share gratitude for our community.

TASSA Elects Four New Board Members
TASSA Board of Directors approved the election results of the Nominating Committee on October 3, 2020.

TASSA Reorganizes Its Executive Committee
The Executive Committee, which is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of TASSA, has been reorganized. Per TASSA Bylaws, the Executive Committee includes the President, one or more Vice Presidents, the Managing Director, the Treasurer, and the Editor of the Bridge.

TASSA family lost a valuable member, Dr. Orhan Gurbuz
On behalf of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee, we announce with sympathy that Dr. Orhan Gurbuz, a previous board member of TASSA, has passed away peacefully on August 31, 2020. We would like to thank the late Dr. Gurbuz for his invaluable contribution to the TASSA and express our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.

New Board Chair and President, Dr. Candan Tamerler starts her term
Dr. Candan Tamerler, who served TASSA as the vice president and board member since 2004, assumed the duties from the past chairman of the board and president, Dr. Haluk Unal, in April 2020.
