As we mark the half-way point of summer break, I want to update you on a few opportunities for parent involvement in the district, and some important dates that you may want to add to your calendar.
District staff members are working throughout the summer to ensure students make a smooth transition into the 2018-19 school year. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at 630-553-4382. The district administrative center is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Registration for the 2018-19 school year for Yorkville CUSD 115 should be completed online through Home Access Center (HAC) by
August 1
. Log in information was sent out in an email to all parents who currently have children enrolled in District 115. Families new to the district or families without a HAC account should follow the directions in the the document below to obtain access.
If you have not yet registered your child for school, please visit the district website (
https://www.y115.org/registration) for details and instructions, including medical forms, fee payment information, and school supply lists. District 115 school supply lists are also available at local Target, Walgreens, and Walmart locations.
Registration fees can be paid online using a debit/credit card through the Home Access Center. Please call the district at 630-553-4382 if you have any difficulty accessing the site. Payments by check (payable to Yorkville CUSD 115) or cash may be dropped off at the student's school on the following dates:
- Elementary: Fees can be paid in person at the student's school starting August 1, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
- YMS/YHS: Fees can be paid in person at the student's school on August 2
between 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Student schedules, physical education uniforms, parking passes, and school IDs will also be available on August 2.
Applications for free and reduced fees/lunch will be available starting August 1 on the district website, as well as at each District 115 school and the Administrative Center office.

Advisory council applications available to YHS & YMS students
|
Superintendent Dr. Timothy Shimp is looking for a group of students in grades 7-12 to meet with him on a regular basis to share their school experiences and work together with their classmates to keep the superintendent apprised of issues related to the school's education, climate, and facilities. The goal of the council is to increase communication between the students, administration, and the community.
To be eligible to serve on the council, students must complete and submit 1) an Application Form and 2) a Recommendation Form (or contact name and information) by

Area adults invited to apply to be a part of the Citizens Advisory Council
|
The mission of the Citizens Advisory Council (CAC) is to improve the education in Yorkville CUSD 115 by advising the superintendent of educational and other issues facing the district. Members are elected to three-year terms. The council meets the first Thursday of each month during the school year from 6-8 p.m.

FREE children's book available to Y115 newborns
|
Join District 115 in promoting reading and welcoming the newest members in the Yorkville school district: encourage parents of newborns to call the district at 630-553-4382 to receive a free children's book.
The book presented to the district's newest Yorkville Foxes, "I Wish You More" by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Tom Lichtenheld, reflects the desire of the district's Board of Education, administration, and staff for each child to have wonderful experiences and great opportunities.

The Yorkville Educational Foundation (YEF) is seeking community-minded individuals to join its Board of Directors for the 2018-19 school year. Board members have the opportunity to make a difference in the Yorkville CUSD 115 community through fundraising and support. Last year the YEF donated nearly $10,000 to Yorkville schools and board members are looking to expand their impact.

'Dear Evan Hansen' tickets featured in YEF raffle

Get your chance to win four of the hottest tickets in town! The Tony Award Winning Best Musical and teen favorite, 'Dear Evan Hansen' is coming to Chicago and the YEF is raffling off tickets for its February 12, 2019 show!
Raffle tickets can be purchased for $5 each at the YEF tables during the schools' August Curriculum Nights, as well as at other events throughout the fall.
