"One of the best documentaries I've ever seen...It made me want to locate some of the interviewees to thank them for their service and share how much I appreciated this film and how important their participation was. ."

Deli dinner: 6:00 pm ~ Film: 6:30 pm

This is the profound and unique story of the 550,000 Jewish men and women who served in World War II. Through the eyes of the servicemen and women, the film brings to life the little-known story of Jews in World War II - as active participants in the fight against Hitler, bigotry and intolerance...(and
waging) a more personal fight-to save their brethren in Europe.
Veterans both famous (Mel Brooks, Henry Kissinger, Carl Reiner) and unknown share their war experiences and how they struggled with anti-Semitism within their ranks. After years of struggle, they emerged transformed, more powerfully American and more deeply Jewish, determined to continue the fight for equality and tolerance...

I t is no coincidence that we are screening this film on June 6. We
remember June 6, 1944 (D-Day), the largest seaborne invasion in history when Allied forces initiated the Battle of Normandy, which lasted from June 1944 to August 1944 and resulted in the Allied liberation of Western Europe from Nazi Germany's control.
