The Holy Comforter Challenge

Dear Friends,

Just a few short weeks ago, I announced the Holy Comforter Challenge to close our budget gap by the start of our new church year on September 16, 2018. Our immediate need is to raise $100,000.

Since we announced the challenge, I am thrilled to announce that 70 donors have responded with tremendous generosity. To date we have raised a little over $30,000! In the weeks ahead, we will continue to share how your support will help Holy Comforter continue to sustain key outreach ministries as well as our clergy and staff.

Making your contribution is easy:
  • Sunday offering - Place your check in the plate with "Holy Comforter Challenge" in the memo area.
  • Text donation by mobile phone - Simply text 73256 and enter CHCGIVING (not case-sensitive).
  • Online - Please click HERE to make your donation today.
Our faith community is on the dawn of a new era with a reinvigorated calling to serve God and one another. I hope I can count on your support.

Sincerely,

Jon

Father Jon Strand

P.S. September 16 is our deadline. Let's keep the momentum going. Please donate today!

Pennywise Thrift Shop
Pennywise Needs You!
Revenues from the Pennywise Thrift Shop fund a variety of ministries and activities within our parish as well as numerous community charitable programs and services. Volunteers do all of the work at the shop, and we always need volunteers. Shifts vary by type of work:
  • Desk/cashier: usually work a two-hour shift, which can be once a month or more depending on your availability.
  • Sorters: Volunteers sort all donations. Shifts can be as short as 1 hour and coordinated with the Day Chair.
  • Pricers: Volunteers price items that are chosen for the shop based on preset guidelines. Shifts can be as short as 1 hour and coordinated with the Day Chair.
  • Stocking racks and shelves is done while pricing and sorting to keep everything moving.
  • Porch Patrol: Volunteers sign up for one or more week shifts during a year and move donations from the porch after hours into the shop.
  • Youth Service Opportunities: Students can earn service hours. Shifts coordinated with the Day Chairs.
To volunteer, please contact Mary Coulombe. Want more information? See the Holy Comforter website HERE. Find us on Facebook HERE. Track special items on Craigslist HERE.
