Hybrid/Blended Learning Starts January 11

As you know, we start the second semester of the 2020/2021 school year on Monday, January 11.  Additionally on January 11, our model for learning will change. All students, with the exception of those who elected to be on the Remote Learning Team will be in attendance each day, whether remote or in person.   We no longer have asynchronous learning days scheduled. Consequently, we will return to our pre-COVID-19 schedule and attendance procedures. We will also be following our Purple and Gold Weeks (students in grades 5 - 7 music/P.E. are impacted by this) as we traditionally have in past years. Next week is a Purple Week.  Click here to view a spreadsheet of where each team goes based on Purple/Gold weeks.  This does not impact the Remote Learning Team.  See below for a breakdown of the school week.
  • Monday - Mondays will be a synchronous remote learning day in which all students will virtually follow their regular class schedule and live stream with their teachers unless otherwise indicated on the District calendar.
    • On both Monday, March 22 and March 29, middle school L-Z students will attend school in person, while A-K students will login for synchronous remote learning.
  • Tuesday - A-K students attend in person; L-Z students will login for synchronous remote learning
  • Wednesday - L-Z students attend in person; A-K students will login for synchronous remote learning
  • Thursday - A-K students attend in person; L-Z students will login for synchronous remote learning
  • Friday - L-Z students attend in person; A-K students will login for synchronous remote learning

*If you changed days earlier in the year due to a sibling with a different last name or childcare, you will continue to attend on the days you changed to in the fall.

Please know that our teachers will be sending out Google Classroom, Meet and/or Zoom links for new classes prior to Monday if needed. Your student may have already received this information.

As always, please contact your child's teacher, school counselor, assistant principal, or me with any questions.

Thanks,
Jeff
Important Notes:

Pride of NRMS
Earlier today, we recognized over 100 students from NRMS as the Pride of NRMS semester 1 recipients.  Although this event did not happen in its traditional manner, the ability to recognize this many students who have continued to live The Bear Way this school year says a lot about our students and the school community as a whole.  Please click here if you would like to watch that video recognition.  Congratulations to those students and families!

North Royalton Athletic Boosters
The North Royalton Athletic Boosters continually support our student-athletes both here at the middle school and also at NRHS.  Please click here to view their website and here to become a booster.
