EVERGREEN HOLIDAY FAIR
THE HOLIDAY FAIR SILENT AUCTION
Each year at the Evergreen Holiday Fair we have a silent auction full of special items and experiences. Surely, you have a talent or treasure that someone would love that could be part of the silent auction!

It could be something you do:
  • Cook a meal (soup for six? omelets for eight?)
  • Guide a hike (with some bird watching? plant identification?)
  • Give music lessons (or voice lessons!)
  • Organize closets or paperwork (or go through basements or attics or mudrooms)
  • Dog-sit, cat-sit, house-sit, or baby-sit

It could be something you share:
  • Your camp or guest room for a weekend
  • Tickets to sporting event, music, or a play
  • Kayaks, canoes, or bikes to loan
  • Professional (or semi-professional!) skills
  • Access to your workshop or craft area with lessons

It could be something you give:
  • One-of-a-kind works of art
  • Treasures in search of a new home
  • Antiques and heirloom pieces
  • Gift baskets you've assembled

EVENTS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
FROM THE SEARCH COMMITTEE: SURVEY RESULTS
The Ministerial Search Committee thanks everyone who participated in the survey, and more than 50 of you who joined us for the conversational circles during October. The Summary of the survey results is available here, and a summary of the circle meetings will be ready soon.
FROM THE OFFICE: STAFF TRANSITIONS
Our office administrative staffing is in transition. Consequently, office hours will temporarily be by appointment only. Connie Densmore has left First Universalist, but while we look to fill that position, Gail Mills has generously agreed to help us with bookkeeping tasks on a temporary basis. Volunteers and Gwen Matthews are picking up other tasks -- Yay for UU teamwork and thank you for your patience!
PEACE & JUSTICE WORK
TURKEYS FOR YCAN
Sunday, November 17, during church
Again this year we invite you to donate a turkey for Yarmouth Cares About Neighbors (YCAN)’s Yarmouth Food Pantry to include in Thanksgiving baskets for its Food Pantry clients. Bring your donation to church ONLY on Sunday, November 17, or by special arrangement directly with Charlie Horstmann at 274-9105 or chorstmann@gmail.com. Please help us meet our goal of 10 turkeys! FACT: Our 95 Main tenants are frequent YFP clients!
FAITH-IN-ACTION 3D NIGHT
Saturday, Nov. 16, 5:30 pm in the Gathering Room
For our first 3D (Dinner-Discussion-Documentary) event of the year we are featuring three short films about transgender youth. Come hear from parents who have become advocates for their children as they figure out what this journey means for them. Learn some new vocabulary words! Even if we think we don’t know anyone personally affected by this topic, we can help by being informed neighbors. This even is free but please sign up by contacting Mariana at catalpa.girl@gmail.com or calling 207-975-2884. Chef John needs to know how many people to cook for!
OUR HALF-PLATE
Each Sunday, we donate half of our collection plate directly to projects and organizations that live and promote our shared values. Supporting Immigrant Tenants (SIT) is this week's half plate recipient. Rental security deposits are often a financial barrier of New Mainer families. SIT clears the
barrier with interest-free security deposit loans to enable New Mainers to leave the shelter and move into safe, stable rental housing.
