Join in the  capstone events  of the yearlong BSU 50th celebration April 25-28 including the opening reception at Norby House Friday evening, an Alumni panel discussion Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Valders 206, and the symposium of student research presentations Saturday at 2:30-3:30 p.m. also in Valders 206 featuring Janet Irankunda '19 (Music), Fadzai Teramayi '19 (Biology), Hawi Nyiera '20 (Chemistry), Darnelle Lyng '20 (History), Asha Aden '20 (Political Science and Religion), and Siyabonga Mabuza '22 (Management/Econ).

50th Reunion- Black Student Union Book Signing — Welcome back W.D. Foster Graham '74 from 2:00pm-3:30 p.m. on Friday, April 26 in the Book Shop. Chat with Graham about Luther in the 70's and purchase a signed copy of one of his books.

Featuring the oratorio "Jepthe," the Luther College Collegium Musicum will present a concert at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, in the Noble Recital Hall, Jenson-Noble Hall of Music.

J-Term in Roatan : Information Session --The island of Roatan, Honduras, is home to the world's second largest coral reef but also widespread poverty and environmental degradation. This International Studies course combines an in depth study of Roatan with internships in health care, education, environmental sustainability, and community outreach. Students gain valuable experience working in the developing world while also exploring the history, culture, and environment of a Caribbean island. Learn more about the course. Student Life Committee on Senate is conducting a survey in order to find out the number of students* that need storage for the summer. Please fill out this form as best as you can before noon April 20. Later submissions will not be considered. *Please note that this survey is only intended for International Students and students who live outside the 600 mile radius of Luther College.

The Dorian Choral Retreat , now in its second year, will be hosted this summer at Luther June 28-30. This event is available to all who are interested and at least 19 years of age. There is a fee of $125 with no on-campus housing over the course of the retreat, or $175 for a single, air-conditioned room Friday and Saturday night on campus. A $10 discount is offered to people who are coming with a roommate. Click here to register.

Interested in a high-impact learning experience that offers college credit while preparing you for a career? Consider Luther College’s newest program, the  Rochester Semester . Spend Spring 2020 with a group of your peers in Rochester, MN doing an internship in your area of interest while taking two courses (including a Paideia II) from Luther College professors.  Informational meeting on  Thursday, April 18 at 9:45 a.m. in Valders 262  or contact the CGL or Professors Jodi Enos-Berlage or Robert Christman .

Philharmonia presents their spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, in the Main Hall of the Center for Faith and Life. The program for this concert includes Mozart's "Overture to Don Giovanni," Debussy’s “Petite Suite” and Beethoven's "Ah, Perfido!" for soprano and orchestra, which will be performed with Carla Hanson, soprano.

The Luther College Jazz Orchestra will present their homecoming concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, in the Main Hall of the Center for Faith and Life. This concert is the culmination of the Jazz Orchestra's 2019 Midwest Tour, consisting of stops in Iowa, South Dakota and Minnesota.

Student Senate Elections are coming up! Those who would like to represent their fellow students and be involved in a driven committee of fellow student leaders are highly encouraged to apply. The  application is linked here  along with the  signature sheets  and are due to the Student Life Office by 4:00 p.m. on April 23.

The community is invited to practice giving and receiving generosity through the Little Free Pantry in the CFL Prayer Chapel. Suggested non-perishable food items include: ramen noodles, canned soup, peanut butter, tuna, beans, seasoning, mac n' cheese, instant rice, and other microwavable food items. Suggested health and hygiene items include: toothpaste, toilet paper, feminine hygiene products, soap, and hair products. Donations can be left in the Little Free Pantry or dropped off at the College Ministries office.
