Special Independence Day treats on the Portico between worship services!

Scripture: 1 Peter 3:3-4
Sermon: Tim Pappas & Candace Neal - Playlist "Fame & Forture"
Taking off the mask to be ourselves (who God wants us to be) and not who the world wants us to be.

Candace will be singing her original song, "Famous" (from the album Music From A Can)
you can listen to it on  Spotify or  Apple Music.

A Note From Candace & Tim
We are so thrilled to kick off this exciting Playlist Series at Peace! This summer promises to be a musical melange of different melodies, personal experiences, and life lessons. If you're asking yourself, "Who's this Candace gal and Tim fellow?" Have no fear. You may have seen this husband and wife team singing with the Praise Team, tickling the ivories, and reading a dramatic scene or two around the holidays. As we delve into this first day of July, we will roll up our sleeves to hone in on our journeys as longtime performers. Albeit gratifying to live a life "in the spotlight," there are many pitfalls and harsh realities we have faced behind the curtain.  Want to know more about Candace and Tim? Check them out:  Tim Pappas: www.tjpvoice.com  Candace Neal: www.candaceneal.com
Summer Worship Series Starts - July 1
PLAYLIST: Our lives have a soundtrack; let's not just shuffle through.

Our lives have a soundtrack. Every peak, every low note, and every rhythm make up a part of who God created us to be. There is power within music, so that whenever we hear a certain song that resonates with us, it transports us to a specific time and place in our lives. Through music, we learn about ourselves, about life, and about how we should navigate through the ups and downs of our world. This summer, let's share with one another the special songs that inspire, encourage, and challenge us. Let's not just shuffle through our summer days; let's create a playlist worth listening to!

July 8th - "Teach Your Children Well" - I John 4:17-21 Theme: Our children are watching and listening.

July 15th - "Keep Your Head To The Sky" - Psalm 121; Proverbs 3:5-6 Theme: Holding on and finding strength to carry on in hard times.

July 22nd - "Make a Joyful Noise to the Lord" - Psalm 100

July 29th - "That I Would Be Good..." - Romans 8:28; Philippians 4:12-13; Psalm 100:5 Theme: Contentment in the midst of suffering, forgiveness, redemption, and receiving God's goodness.

August 5 - Annual Peace Youth Sunday

Thank You from Peace Children's Ministry!
What a great June this has been! Thank you to all the volunteers, camp counselors and families who helped make our 3 weeks of Summer Camp and Vacation Bible School a huge success. This year more than ever, we had a rockin' attendance at camp with over 30 kids each week, and 75+ kids at VBS. It is a blessing and pleasure for me to be a part of this church family.  Extra special thanks go to Joanna Sell and Michelle Velazquez for making it all possible. Congratulations to all on a job well done.  - Julie Chatfield, Children's Ministry Director

6th Grade Youth "YOUNITE" Starts - July 5
"YOUNITE" is a summer experience where our rising sixth graders spend time sharing meals, having meaningful devotions, and bonding together every Thursday night in July. The idea is that as this group becomes close through the summer, by the time they enter officially into Peace Youth in the fall, they will be united and excited to be there. Each Thursday night we'll meet at church from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., get dinner (please bring money for your meal), play some games, and have a Bible study. If you are a rising sixth grader, we hope you will join us for these fun summer nights.  We'll finish it off with a trip to "Main Event" on August 5 th . Summer Back to School Blessing Drive
- Deadline August 5
Throughout the month of July, we are committing to collect 200 backpacks to be distributed to families in need at our partner school John Young Elementary School, as well as additional public schools in our local area. Whether you find yourself in the next month doing some back-to-school shopping, or if those days are long over for you and you miss the joy of picking up a new backpack for a child, include the purchase of one or two backpacks in your travels over the next month.  You can drop them off in the bins located in the hallway.  We'll also be setting up a small "store" for families in need in order to shop for school supplies at a very discounted rate. So feel free to donate a gift card or two, or make a monetary donation for school supplies, and support our effort to help be a blessing to others when they head back to school in August.  The deadline for the collection will be Sunday, August 5 th.

*Maybe you could encourage your co-workers or office to participate in the collection?

*Are you in a small group or class?  Let's see which team collects the most backpacks and school supply funds!

*Want to be a part of the fun?  Volunteer to help with our School Supply Store at the beginning of the school year.
