McCall Outdoor Science School and the Idaho Division of Vocational Rehabilitation have teamed up once again to provide the IDVR MOSS Program this summer!
IDVR with assistance from the Idaho Falls School District is offering a 5-day resident camp to learn skills that lead to successful employment. Through new experiences and exposure to jobs that focus on protecting Idaho’s natural
resources, students will participate in a hands-on program that teaches scientific and ecological principles as well as the job skills needed to be successful in these in-demand careers.
Program Dates and Times
Drop off: Sunday June 16, 2019 at 3:00 PM
Pick up: Friday June 21, 2019 at 2:00 PM
Students will be presenting a work based
learning project on Friday June 21st at 1:00 PM,
parents are encouraged to attend.
Cost
IDVR will cover the costs of the program.
Who is Eligible?
Students must be between the ages of 15-21, in high school or attending post secondary
education, and be a current
IDVR customer.
Program Entrance Requirement
Students must meet the following requirements for consideration:
• Eligible for vocational rehabilitation
• Attending high school or post-secondary education
• Between 15-21 years old
• Commitment to complete the program
With or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to maintain appropriate behavior and social skills
• Able to take direction from program staff
• Able to walk hiking trails and maintain
stamina throughout the day to complete
activities
Application Process
All interested students will be required to complete an application to attend IDVR’s MOSS program. Application is due by April 29, 2019. There are a limited number of spots available in the program. Applications will be considered when received. The application includes:
• Completed application
• Teacher assessment
• Application essay
• Recommendation from VR counselor
