Principal Newsletter
Dear St. Joseph Elementary School Parents,

This is our last newsletter before Holy Week and our Spring Break. I would like to share with you my Easter message that will be shared with parishioners in the Easter Bulletin:

"The children of Saint Joseph Elementary School rejoice with a sounding ALLELUIA!, the eternal message of Easter!

For forty days we have focused on prayer, sacrifice and almsgiving. I encouraged my students and families to “give” this Lenten season. Instead of giving up something, I challenged them to give of themselves. Put down the devices and give time to people. Giving up gossiping and judging. Instead, give kindness and compassion.

Now that Lent is over, I challenge us all to take our Lenten promises and apply them to our everyday lives. It should be our lifestyle, not a short lived promise, like a diet or a fad.

Easter is not just a holiday of chocolate bunnies and eggs; it is an attitude of inner joy, an ongoing reflection process of becoming a better person and, growing closer to God, that stays with us long after the jelly beans are all gone. Our Lenten efforts must become a part of us.

Let us celebrate everyday by giving of ourselves, being present to each other and growing our relationship with Jesus, the Lord."

Year long Easter blessings,

Dr. Marquita Yriarte
Principal
Saint Joseph Elementary School
