During the June 19th City Commission Work Session, the City Commission directed staff to provide copies of the document to local government officials, including legislators, county commissioners and local candidates in the upcoming elections. As a result, a letter under Mayor Brown's signature will be included with the emailing and/or mailing of the West Bay Drive Redevelopment Trust Fund 15 year review document to the State Legislative Delegation representing Pinellas County as well as those candidates who are on the ballot for State office in November 2018.  Additionally, the document will be sent to the incumbent Commissioners serving on the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) as well as the candidates seeking to serve on the BCC.  The distribution list is being complied by Largo's Intergovernmental Relations Coordinator with assistance from the Office Administrator for the Mayor and Commission.  Economic Development staff will send out the document when the letter and distribution list is complete.

Downtown Plaza Preliminary Design Concepts

On June 25th, Planning Division staff and Landscape Architectural consultant, Booth Design Group, presented three preliminary design concepts for the Downtown Plaza project at the southwest corner of West Bay Drive and Seminole Boulevard to the Community Redevelopment Area Advisory Board (CRAAB) and the Community Development Advisory Board (CDAB). The CRAAB and CDAB reaffirmed their support for the project and provided input on the design concepts.

You're invited to join the conversation on   LoveLargoFL.com and provide input on the preliminary Downtown Plaza design concepts. View 3-D tours and highlighted features of each concept and discuss how the landmarks, hardscaping and landscaping might align with West Bay Drive and other projects in the area.

Consider each concept and   share your thoughts on what features you would like to see in the final design of the Plaza. All of the current concepts were developed with input from resident advisory boards, as well as members from the Largo Historical Society, Suncoast Performing Arts Foundation and the Mid Pinellas Chamber of Commerce.

The Downtown Plaza Enhancement Project was approved in the Fall of 2016 by the Largo City Commission with construction being funded in 2019.
