The St. Francis Choir presents an online Lessons and Carols Service for 2020.
Because of the COVID pandemic, the choir is not allowed to sing during our in-person services. This means that the choir cannot present our customary Lessons and Carols Service on one of our Advent Sundays. We hope that you will take the time to watch the on-line service sometime during the Advent Season. To view the service, please click on the link below, or type the link in your web browser address line.

Christmas Flower Contributions
We will be scaling back our greens and flowers during this Covid time and also creating a festive environment in our sanctuary that will be enjoyed by those both attending in-person services and via YouTube. The Altar Guild Flower Team invites you to spread more cheer during this Christmas season by contributing towards the elegant greenery and flower decorations for the Christmas services.
Contributions can be given in thanksgiving, in memory, or to the Glory of God. This loving gesture will be greatly appreciated by all and will receive mention in the bulletins for the Christmas services.
Christmas Flower donation envelopes are available in the Narthex, beginning the First Sunday in Advent through the Fourth Sunday in Advent for those attending in-person services. You may drop the envelope or insert from the bulletin, into the offertory plate.
You can sign up online here and then mail in your contribution.
Donations along with the form below may also be mailed to St. Francis of Assisi, PO Box 445, Wilsonville OR 97070. Please make checks, in any amount, payable to “St. Francis of Assisi” and write “Christmas Flowers” on the memo line.
Your generosity is greatly appreciated, Our Altar Guild

Sunday Zoom Conversations for Advent—you’re invited!
There will be no conversation November 29.
Please join us on Zoom December 6, 13 and 20 for conversations about the Incarnation.
We’ll be using the Prologue to the Gospel of John (excerpts below) to explore this wonderful, mysterious gift to the world. We’ll meet at 9:20 am after Morning Prayer, using the link from Brendan+. Make a fresh cup of coffee or tea, and let’s see what we can learn!
In the beginning was the Word. And the Word was with God, and the Word was God… What has come into being in him was life, and the life was the light of all people. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it…
He was in the world, but the world knew him not. He came to his own home, and his own people received him not. But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God…
And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory… full of grace and truth.

Thanksgiving is a perfect time to wrap up our Fall Stewardship Drive.
The results are absolutely amazing with 105 pledges and a total of $294,735 pledged to support the operations, programs and ministries of St. Francis in 2021!
We surpassed our goals for both pledging units and pledged dollars and even added 13 new pledges for next year! This is astounding in a year when we have been significantly limited in providing opportunities to gather in person, share fellowship and welcome new members into our community of faith.
Our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you who prayed, considered and
responded with a pledge to support our parish in the coming year. We are
blessed to have a membership that is ever generous and full of gratitude.
We wish you all a blessed Thanksgiving. While our gatherings may be small,
may they be rich with the traditions we hold dear.
With gratitude,
Fr. Brendan Barnicle, Carole Biskar, Doug Horton, Mary Kirk, Stephen Shaw

Threads of Love Sewing Ministry
Our Baby Blanket Project for Salud Medical Center is really gaining momentum. Most of us are sewing at home and are excited to see all of the blankets as they are finished! If you are interested in joining in on the fun, it is not too late and we have made participation easier than ever!
Dale Rushton has assembled a number of “kits” to make baby blanket tops. This eliminates the need to shop for fabric, cut it to size, etc. All that is needed is for you to sew 25 squares into rows of 5 and then join the rows together. This is a perfect Advent project as we await the birth of the Baby Jesus. It is also a great beginner project if you haven’t sewn for a while, have limited time or have a child or grandchild who would enjoy an introduction to sewing and the opportunity to make a blanket that will be donated to a newborn in 2021.
After completing the blanket top, you have the option of sewing on the backing yourself or returning the completed top to the Sewing Ministry so that we can procure backing fabric and attach the back to the front.
For more information please contact one of the following:
Jean Atwell, Traci Cronkrite, Mary Kirk or Dale Rushton
