Mental Gymnastics: Just for Fun!
You are on a plane that has just taken off for a twelve hour trans-Pacific flight. You have a rare affliction that requires that you take one each of two different pills every eight hours, "A" pill and "B" pill. The ingredients of these pills are volatile, and their effectiveness is neutralized if they are combined into a single pill or combined in any other way than inside your stomach.
Not taking these pills on schedule is fatal within ten hours of taking the last dosage. You took your last dosage shortly before boarding the plane. You have four pills with you on the plane, two of each. Here's the problem: all of the pills look identical. When taking the last dose, you inadvertently mixed one of the remaining "A" pills with both of the remaining "B" pills.
The Challenge How can you consume one "A" pill and "B" pill during your flight, so that you do not die, even though you cannot distinquish the "A" pill that is now mixed in with both "B" pills?
