Dear St. George families,
Perhaps you have heard the saying, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." When I asked students what it means to think first and speak second, they said, "If it's not nice, don't say it."..."Think before you speak."...and "Actions speak louder than words." As some of the students pointed out, thoughts can lead directly to actions, and words are never even spoken. If this is done in Jesus' name, this is a good thing. One of the students even recalled seeing a poster that says,
THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK: Is it
True?...Is it
Helpful?...Is it
Important?...Is
it
Necessary?...Is it
Kind?
When we follow Jesus' example of how to treat others, we follow the path of
righteousness. When we walk with Christ in this way, we go where He leads us, and
as He leads us, we arrive at a place in which we were meant to be - where
He
wants,
not where
we
want. How interesting it is to hear children trying to figure out what
they are called to do, who they are called to be, and where they are called to go. This
is one of many lessons God has in store for their bold journey in faith.
"And we know that all things work together for the good of those who love
God, of those who are called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28

School supply kits for upcoming 2nd - 8th grade students are available for purchase HERE.
Kits will be shipped to student's home.
Please remember to order supply kit for student's next year grade.
*Students in grades PreK - 1st will be charged a supply fee in lieu of ordering supply kits. Supplies will be in PreK-1st grade students' class on their first day.

In the month of April we focus on the virtue of Justice. Justice means to make sure every person receives what he or she needs, such as food, clothing, and shelter. This even includes obeying those in authority, playing games fairly, and respecting what belongs to someone else. Being fair doesn't always mean giving each person exactly the same things- for instance, not everyone needs glasses to see well. But because we are all made in God's image and likeness, justice also means showing each person dignity and respect.
Suggestions for practicing this virtue:
1. Donate food or clothing to a local shelter/Food Bank
2. Help with a Habitat for Humanity build
3. Go as a family to Reconciliation
