Jefferson Barns Community Vitality Center is hosting Be Proud! Be Responsible Workshop - on Saturday, April 13 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at 32150 Dorsey Street. This workshop is open to youths between the ages of 12 & 18. FREE snacks, lunch and prize will be provided to participants. Join  us for a fun and interactive workshop. Scheduled Upcoming Civic Meetings - Residents are invited to attend the upcoming City meetings. Below is a list of the meetings with their date, time and location: 

Committee on Disability Concerns
  • The Committee on Disability Concerns meeting will take place on Monday, April 15 at 5:30 pm at Westland City Hall, located at 36300 Warren Road and is open to the public. 
City Council
  • The Westland City Council will hold a Study Session on Monday, April 15 at 6:00 pm regarding the Modano Arena Lobby Project. The study session will take place at Westland City Hall, located at 36300 Warren Road. To see the meeting agenda click here
  • The regular meeting of the Westland City Council will take place on Monday, April 15 at 7:00 pm at Westland City Hall, located at 36300 Warren Road. To see the meeting agenda click here
Community Development Advisory Committee
  • The Community Development Advisory Committee meeting will take place on Tuesday, April 16 at 5:30 pm at Jefferson Barns Community Vitality Center, located at 32150 Dorsey Street and is open to the public.
Zoning Board of Appeals
  • The Zoning Board of Appeals meeting is Wednesday, April 17 at 5:30 pm Westland City Hall, 36300 Warren Road and is open to the public. 
City Offices and the 18th District Court will be CLOSED on Friday, April 19 in observance of Good Friday. Trash pick-up will not be affected.

Friendship Center will be CLOSED on Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20 in observance of Easter.

Westland Library will be CLOSED on Sunday, April 21 in observance of Easter.

Marshmallow Drop at Nankin Mills - on Friday, April 19 at 11:00 am. A blizzard of marshmallows will fill the sky as they tumble from the Easter Bunny's helicopter. There are three drops based on age groups, which are 4 and younger, 5-7 years old and 8 and older.  Children are encouraged to bring their own baskets or bags to collect marshmallows. No pre-registration is required for this free special event.  The address for Nankin Mills Park is 33275 Edward Hines Drive.
