Thanks to all who have adopted flowers for the Easter services! There are still a handful of Easter lilies unspoken for , so if you’d like to commemorate a birth, death, wedding anniversary or other significant life events by donating flowers for the Easter services, you may still do so. Cost is $15 per plant, and the dedications for the bulletin need to be communicated to the office by Wednesday, April 18. Call 243-3257 or e-mail dcarden@saygrace.net to make arrangements.

Holy Week, our annual sojourn to Jerusalem and Golgotha and beyond, begins on Sunday with a triumphal entry into Jerusalem and the dramatic reading of the Passion Gospel, lest anyone forget the tragic ending – or apparent ending – to the story. See below for the whole week’s services and events:

* The reception after the Easter Vigil is a pot-luck celebration, with parishioners bringing their favorite sweet or savory goodie to share. Champagne will be provided.
Please note:
Because of the many services during this most crucial week of the church year, there will be NO mid-day Eucharist on Wednesday, April 17. That service will return to its accustomed slot the next week, on April 24.

Though not technically a holy ritual of the season, the traditional egg hunt offers a much-needed opportunity for children to burn off energy and for parents to gain it through the furtive filching of something sweet from the over-laden basket. Bring your young egg-seekers to Grace at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 20 -- come to the Pavilion in fair weather, Undercroft in foul.
Should you want to donate candy for the hunt, please look for individually wrapped goodies small enough to fit into a plastic egg. And please avoid nuts – some of our wee ones are allergic. In order to allow time for the candy to be put into the eggs,
donations should be delivered to the church no later than Wednesday, April 17.

Belvoir Neighborhood Springfest/Clean-up
|
In coordination with the annual neighborhood clean-up day on Saturday, April 13
th -- tomorrow! --
Belvoir residents and sympathizers are invited join the efforts to tidy up after the sloth of winter and the messy burgeoning of early spring. Volunteers will leap into action beginning at 9 a.m. Chick-fil-a will provide sandwiches for breakfast, and Crown Produce has offered some fruits and water during our clean-up work. We’ll round off our labors with a big BBQ lunch in Tuxedo Circle. It'll be a full day of neighborly-ness! Feel free to attend any or all of the activities that you are able!
An Easter Egg hunt for the kids will be set up in the Circle to start at 1 p.m., with a separate section for the younger 0-4 year old range so they aren't trampled. There are also going to be some yard games set up, including corn hole and badminton for tons of family fun!
Grace will have a team to help with the clean-up. Please meet Phaen Stone and Richard Hyatt in the triangle park (intersection of Mayfair Ave. & Sweetbriar Ave.) at 9:00 am to participate!

Joseph Campbell Mythological RoundTable (MRT)

The RoundTable meets next week on Tuesday, April 15

Thou That Art: Transforming Religious Metaphors.
This is Campbell's examination of Christianity by understanding its connections to Judaism as well as other influences.
The timing for this RoundTable will be several days before Passover and during the Christian Holy Week, so get those taxes done before Monday night.

“Aging with Dignity” Presentations

All parishioners and family are invited to attend a Life Planning Presentation on "Aging with Dignity."
If you or a loved one is having difficulty living alone, join the Life Planning Committee for this informative presentation.
Rachel Tinaya, Marketing Director of Alexian Brothers Pace Program will be sharing information and discussion to anyone interested.
Alexian Brothers Community Services PACE is a community-based program whose purpose is to serve the frail elderly residents of Hamilton County with a healthcare model including senior home care, adult daycare and specialized geriatric medical care.
Two sessions will be offered Sunday, April 28, 2019, both in the Merritt Room:
9:30 a.m. between services -- light breakfast served
12:15 p.m. after second services -- cheese/cracker and snacks served.

Farmers' Market Re-opens for Season on 4-27
|
The Brainerd Market will be back the Saturday after Easter to celebrate its tenth season with live music from Sharla June, face-painting by Lyn Martin, a cookie-decorating booth, and even a kids’-building workshop will supplement the already festive atmosphere customers have come to expect on Saturday mornings at the market. And of course, farmers! vendors! delicious eats and wonderful crafts! Come help get the season off to a rambuncteous and joyful start. Hours as of the 27th will be 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Double SNAP will be offered each week up to $20.
