AFS Virtual Spring Conference: Cal-Neva Session

With COVID-19 forcing the cancellation or postponement of several spring meetings, including the Cal-Neva Chapter annual meeting in Folsom, CA, the AFS is offering a  free online series of webinars to provide a venue for authors to present their papers and posters. This is a distinct and separate event from the AFS Annual Meeting currently planned for August 30-September 3, 2020 in Columbus, Ohio.

On May 5, ten people who would have presented at the Cal-Neva Chapter annual meeting will be presenting their talks virtually. On May 6, there will be a virtual poster session including several Cal-Neva posters.

Registration is free, but you need to register in order to attend the virtual sessions. Please support the Cal-Neva presenters by attending this innovative virtual event!

Cal-Neva Website Status

You may have noticed that the Cal-Neva website was offline in early April 2020, and that since that time much of the information posted on the website is out of date. The Cal-Neva Chapter Communications Committee has been working with AFS headquarters IT staff to fix the problems. The website went offline because there was a switch in the AFS headquarters servers on which the website is hosted - the website name had to be re-directed to take users to the website on the new servers. However, after this was taken care of, the website came back up without the most recently posted information.  AFS headquarters IT staff are working hard to fix the problem and hope to have the website's contents up to date by the end of April. We apologize for any inconvenience in the interim.
