Introducing our new yearlong adult reading program beginning July 1, 2018:
The Library Challenge! Visit the library and pick up a "challenge card" - a card listing various Challenge List genres and categories, such as "read a classic romance" or "read a Pulitzer Prize-winning book." Continue
the challenge until July 1, 2019, and you'll be eligible to win our grand prize, a $75 gift certificate to the restaurant of your choice, which will be awarded to the contestant who has read the most challenge books over the course of the year!
Special Bonus for those who participate in our Summer Reading Program AND the Library Challenge!
Win five raffle tickets for each book you read from the Challenge List in July and August, and enter the tickets for a chance to win our summer reading prizes: Gift certificates to local stores and restaurants. More information coming soon!

The Library of Things is Coming!
Coming soon and available for checkout: an iRobot Roomba 690 vacuum cleaner and two (2) mobile hotspots!
- The Roomba Kit comes with a dock charger, a virtual wall, instructions and cleaning tool.
- The 4G/3G LTE Mobile Hotspot Kit can connect up to 10 devices and includes a charger, and a mini usb cord and instructions.
- Both the Roomba and the hotspots are available for one week. One hotspot per family.

Become a Friend of the Library!
July is an exciting month for the Friends of the Library! It's time to join or renew your membership!
We have coined the term 'Friend-Raising' to welcome Library supporters who want to have fun working with other members on a number of various activities throughout the year such as Santa's Visit, movie license purchases, and providing incentives for participation in child and adult summer reading programs and contests. The Friends are delighted to be able to award an annual scholarship to a graduating high school senior in memory of Leonard A. Smith, and to purchase specialized equipment for the Library including a 3-D Printer, a telescope, and computer software for the Children's Room. The Friends also co-sponsor a variety concerts, author forums, and historical presentations.

Music in My Pockets: Family Fun in Folk Music with Jeff Warner

Singing games, "pocket instruments," tall tales, old songs, funny songs, and songs kids teach each other on the playground will be seen, heard, and learned. We will revisit the New England of yesteryear and get a glimpse of how America used to amuse itself before the advent electricity.
This program is recommended for adults and children ages 6 and above.
The Rodgers Library hosts a FREE concert series the second Friday in July and August @ 6:30pm

RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE
Did you know that one blood donation can save up to three lives? Be a hero, give blood!
The Red Cross will be holding a blood drive at the library on July 26. Go to

Bucket Blast
Nashua Community Music School presents a recycled percussion workshop where students of any age learn the basics of rhythm, drumming and collaboration while using recycled objects such as buckets, pails and trashcans as musical instruments. Students are challenged to work together as a team under the direction of NCMS "Trash Talk" Percussion Ensemble Director Ray Aucoin to practice, learn and play a complete musical composition.

It's here! The Rodgers Memorial Library teen summer reading program officially begins on June 25. Those entering 6th grade to 12th grade in the fall (or homeschool equivalent) can log reading time, attend events and games throughout the summer, and earn raffle tickets for a chance to win weekly raffles and grand prizes all summer long! When you go to college, you learn quickly that you have limited resources when it comes to both time and money. You need to make sure you have time to study, as well as to relax, and that you have money when you need it. In this pre-college information session, learn about how to make a budget for expenses and for time, as well as why multitasking is a myth. Registration not required; just drop in.

Make a Stop Motion Video
Your career as a filmmaker could start here! We'll be using iPads and the Stop Motion app to create very short films. Action figures will be provided by the library, but feel free to bring your favorites from home! Curious about that 3D printer in the lobby? Want to know how it works, and how you can use it? Join us for a workshop about the ins-and-outs of 3D printing, including the chance to design your own figurine for printing! Remember that 3D printing takes a while, so you probably won't get to print it the same night you design it, but it will be printed!
