Dear Friends ,

Bishop Gregory V. Palmer appoints Pastor Seth Lindemann to the Associate Pastor position at Epiphany United Methodist Church effective July 1, 2018 . The Staff Parish Relations committee had a successful introduction with Pastor Seth and his wife Allison along with
District Superintendent Rev . Todd Anderson , and Senior Pastor, Rev. Kathy Currier on May 9 , 2018 . Let us introduce you to Pastor Seth Lindemann .

Pastor Seth spent most of his life in Bellbrook, Ohio a suburb of Dayton . Seth is currently serving as Senior Pastor at Northern Hills UMC in Finneytown, OH. Northern Hills worships about 100 and the congregation is very diverse economically, theologically and culturally . It is a very healthy , outward focused church . Seth's passion is for those on the margins. Also coming to Epiphany will be his wife Allison , an elementary art teacher in Fairfield, and children Lucas,13 and Harper, 8.
Seth and Allison are very excited to get their kids into a strong youth program. They plan to move to Loveland , but Allison will keep her job at Fairfield.

Seth graduated from Bowling Green State University with a major in Secondary Education with a concentration in Social Studies and received his bachelor's degree in 1999 . He grew up going to church, to a degree , but it wasn't until he went to Bowling Green State University where the work of Jesus finally took hold and he began the journey as a follower of Jesus. From that moment on all of Seth ' s plans changed. He felt the call to enter into ministry in the summer of 1998 before his senior year at Bowling Green State University . In 2005 Seth served as Executive Director for a Christian based non-profit teen center in Springboro, Ohio called the Garage 1919. In 2008 Seth began serving as Youth Director for Bethany United Methodist Church in Liberty Township, OH. Seth later went on to serve in dual roles at Bethany as Youth Director and Audio and Visual Director . After serving at Bethany UMC Seth was appointed to his first church as Senior Pastor at Northern Hills from 2014 to 2018. At Northern Hills Seth began working "a church of differences " (differences of ethnicity , gender , nationality, economic , education, and political views) . This community was a kingdom dream of Seth's and was a wonderful reality to live and minister within.

Seth is affirmed, assured, and even more convinced in a Triune God that is still working to allow him to be more like Jesus and less like himself, who loves him and guides him, and challenges him to be used more for the kingdom of God, family, friends, church family, and community. Seth is thrilled to join Epiphany in our mission of Creating passion for Christ, love for each other, and change in our world!

We will be working diligently in the coming months to do all that we can to insure a smooth transition for our new Associate Pastor. I, along with the Staff/Parish Relations Committee, will be working closely together in this process. I hope that we can count on the help of each one of you for a great reception for our new Associate Pastor when the time comes, and for the support he will need as he begins his ministry among us.

Please share with me, or other members of our Staff Parish Relations Committee, any thoughts, concerns or ideas you may have to make this transition as successful as possible.

Take care and be well!

Matt Baker
