We're happy to share a preview of our guest speaker and this year's honorees. They inspire us and we're sure you'll be "wowed," too!

Meet Lisa Felder, our People with Purpose Speaker

Lisa Felder was a busy running coach and certified sports nutritionist when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010.

With the help of her
Kaiser Permanente healthcare team, Lisa underwent surgery and follow up treatment, and was then referred HERS,   a place  she describe s  as  "magic."

By 2014 Lisa  was  back doing what she loves. She established  her own business,  Ultra Fitness Beyond Imagination
and her devoted trainees call her  " Coach  Mama Lisa,"  a reference to the warmth, strength, and encouragement that have  won  their hearts.

Join us at our May 4th gala to hear Lisa's inspiring story and in the meantime, learn more via her web site.

Evelyn Paradis will receive our Hope Award for her efforts to raise awareness and funds through her yearly Barb's Pink Party event to benefit HERS patients. Evelyn and her team raised the most funds ever in 2018 -- $20,000 -- to help survivors believe in a promising future.

Funda Dervisoglu will be this year's Empowerment Award recipient, in recognition of her energy, leadership, and strength. Following her mother's breast cancer diagnosis and subsequent recovery, Funda became a dedicated HERS advocate and our top participant and fundraiser for our annual 5k/10k Walk/Run.

Dr. Ming Kuan, our Renewal Award recipient, will be celebrated for her  work as a physician and advocate for breast cancer patients and for being a key Kaiser Permanente leadership member behind HERS recent expansion to their San Leandro campus.

The Harriet Despeaux Award (formerly the Support Award) will be awarded to Stephanie Sullivan for creating and sustaining a community of compassion, aid, and advocacy for survivors and their loved ones. Stephanie is the Giving Hope coordinator for Premier Nissan and Subaru of Fremont.

A program of the
Fremont Chamber of Commerce

We're honored to be the  Leadership Fremont Class of 2019's nonprofit project focus. This year's group has been working diligently to produce a video highlighting our services and impact. The video will premier at our Annual  People with Purpose Gala on May 4th.

Leadership Fremont empowers individuals to assume leadership roles while developing a collective resource and problem-solving network to address community needs today and in the future. Many thanks to this year's Leadership Team, The Fremont Chamber of Commerce, and this year's generous sponsors and donors.
