Expansion Updates

On February 2, 2019, a request was filed with the County of Maui to increase the existing permit area to 4,098 acres.

When the amendment is completed we will move froward in the next phase of the expansion project and increase field exhibit displays, and seek bids for architectural design of a new exhibit hall.

Mahalo Nui Loa to Mike Munekiyo and Bryan Esmeralda of Munekiyo Hiraga, and James Niess for assisting us with this process. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available!
Museum Renovations

The Museum and Plantation Store were closed for renovations March 25-29.  We now have a fresh, new look while preserving the room's historic elements.  We will carry some new products along with your old favorites. Some products will feature artwork from the 2018 student art contest. Come on in and see what's new!

At the same time, the Museum's original, 1980s exhibit gallery lighting was replaced with LED's under Hawaii Energy's "Energy Advantage" Program. This will significantly improve lighting and reduce our energy costs. Mahalo to the Crawford Family Foundation, Walter Enomoto of Hawaii Energy, and Randy Dickson and everyone at Circuit Electric.
