June 20th our Awards Banquet will be at the Willows from 6 to 8 pm at a low, low price of $35 per person. I strongly encourage you all to attend the Town Hall immediately following the Awards banquet directed by our President Randy Vogt. We need your feedback to help develop a strategy moving forward to address key issues in our Chapter - income and expenses, attendance at chapter programs, membership and volunteerism. Speaking of volunteerism - how many of you have stepped forward for the Indy Chapter? I'm holding you all accountable. Don't make me send Guido (aka Amy Baker Fehribach) to take out your knee caps.

The 2019 CSI Great Lakes Region Conference will be this weekend - April 11th through the 13th - at The Atheneum Suite Hotel in Greentown, Detroit, Michigan. There are great sponsorship and advertisement opportunities.
They are in the final lap and need your help to make the Conference a Success! At the very least, the CSI Indy Board, incoming Board Members, and Committee Chairs should seriously consider attending, but all are welcome. For those who are also looking for CEU's, we are offering 4 CEU's if you do not want/need to be in all the CSI Sessions. Lots of choices, lots of networking, lots of learning, lots of fun!

And don't forget the CSI Indy Trade Show on Thursday, October 3 at the JW Marriott again. Contact Joel Young if you want a booth or Brian Detty if you have any questions. This is our largest fundraiser of the year and our sustainability depends on the success of our trade show. We need industry members to purchase booths and professionals to attend the show. Again - don't make me send Guido. We are supporting the 2019 Martin Center Sickle Cell 5K Run and Walk again this year. Registration is now open so please contact David Young and put together a team.
Both teams - Carmel and Ben Davis - played their guts out in the Indiana state basketball championship game. I felt sorry for the Ben Davis kids but Carmel had the lead last year in the championship
game late in 4th quarter against Warren Central and couldn't hold on - so this was their retribution. For you Butler fans John Michael Molloy will be there next year. Virginia got a little redemption too in the NCAA basketball championship - after being the first #1 seed to lose to a 16 seed last year during March Madness they won the championship this year. Didn't Tom Crean at IU say he didn't recruit the Indiana Mr. Basketball Kyle Guy because he couldn't play defense in the Big Ten? Hmmm. He did ok at UVA!

The Indianapolis Chapter of CSI is accepting reservations for Table Tops for upcoming Chapter meetings. The list of programs for upcoming Chapter meetings is published in this newsletter, the web site, or contact Program chairman Jack Morgan - [email protected] , if you would like to target a particular meeting, be sure to make your reservation early. We do have a limit of four spaces available for Table Tops in a standard meeting room and 10 if we have a double room.
Table Tops are an opportunity to promote your company, products, or services to all attendees of our regular chapter meeting during the social hour. There is a maximum of 20 minutes for Table Top presentation at a regular Chapter meeting. You have the floor for maximum of five minutes after dinner before the speaker to communicate to the entire group if there are four presenters. If there is a greater demand, the 20 minutes will be divided by the number of presenters and rounded down to the nearest 30 seconds.
The Table Top presentations are FREE, one time, to new members, and cost current Indianapolis Chapter members only $75. Non-members get the same opportunity for $125. A 30 by 60 table with a cover and skit will be included. All proceeds go to support the Chapter. Payment is due at the time of setup.
Another opportunity for a Table Top is during an Education Seminar. The cost is if you combine it with the Chapter meeting and Education Seminar the cost would be $100 for current members and $150 for non-members.

Hard to believe that my tenure as President is entering the 4th quarter. It has been a challenging year for us all for various reasons. Just to name a few:
1)
Not enough volunteers at the Committee level.
2)
Financial Challenges.
3)
Engaging young people in our chapter.
4)
Offering value to members.
I feel there is general confusion within the chapter membership about where our Chapter is going. Your CSI Board of Directors want to make sure our members are aware and knowledgeable about the direction our chapter is taking. We also want the member's voices to be heard.
With that in mind, we will be making a change to our standard Monthly May meeting. Jack Morgan has discussed and worked out an alternate time for the "Todays Landscape Architectural Trends" meeting to be presented later in the year. Thank you, Jack.
In its place, we will have a State of the Chapter - Town Hall Meeting.
Your Board and Key Committee Chairpersons will be in attendance to present strategies and tactics to grow our Chapter as well as answer and discuss your questions.
There will be much more information to follow over the next few weeks.
As President, I feel this will be the most important meeting of my term. However, without a strong and constructive turnout of the membership I'm afraid we won't achieve the desired results.
So Please Mark May 16TH on your calendars and don't miss this opportunity to help drive CSI Indianapolis successfully into the future.

The Indianapolis Chapter, CSI was founded in 1961 and continues serving the local construction community. The Chapter is currently the largest chapter in the Great Lakes Region. Our membership is made up of architects, engineers, interior designers, facilities managers, contractors, product manufactures and representatives, and others involved in the construction industry.
