Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

We hope you are all doing well and staying healthy.  On behalf of the teachers and staff of Gilles-Sweet, we are thinking of you and your family and missing our students! This has been a very unique school year, one that we will all remember for a lifetime.  While the teaching and learning has taken a dramatic shift in recent weeks, we believe our students will learn and achieve life lessons and experiences that will benefit them in many ways for years to come. We are very proud of our Fairview Community and the support they have given our families, students and staff. It's times like these we are proud to be Warriors!

The report cards are now published in PowerSchool, our district online grading program. If you need to set up a parent account and/or view your child's grades, please click here to access the PowerSchool Parent Portal Follow the instructions to create a new account or to login into an existing account. To link your child to your account, you will need their six-digit student ID number and the password which will be their birthday.  Use the following format: January 1, 2000 = 112000 (no extra 0's, dashes or slashes).

After logging in, the page will appear blank with no grades - that is because teachers in grades 1-5 do not assign letter grades, but instead use standards based performance grades.  To access overall standard performance grades, click on the standards tab on the top of the page. You will see all of the standards that have been accessed for the third quarter through March 12 , our last day of "in-person" schooling.  Some teachers may have chosen to also enter assignments in the grade book.  By clicking on the dotted line in each subject area, you may see individual assignments and details provided by the teacher.  Please keep in mind, a score of 3 indicates your child is performing at grade level and where we want students to be. A score of 4 is only for those students who are exceeding grade level standards.

Teacher comments will be located under Characteristics of Successful Learners. These comments will be important to read, as they will reflect on your student's engagement with our remote learning since March 17, 2020. Please read below for detailed instructions as to how to access these comments.

  • If you have multiple children in the district, select the name of the child whose information you would like to view in the upper left hand corner.
  • Select the Standards Grades tab
  • Select the triangle next to the subject you would like to view the standards for.
  • View each subject with a triangle/arrow next to it.
  • Please take time to view Characteristics of Successful Learners, as this is where teachers will reflect on students' progress of their home learning since 3/17.
  • Select any speech bubble you see to view a comment.

Below is how to access grades and comments on the desktop view.

Included in the links below are detailed letters from your student's grade level team, which will provide further explanation of the standards taught and assessed for the third quarter this year.
