Buying season tickets is the best way to insure you'll  get the seats you want, and at a discounted price. There are a variety of packages  available; call the theatre or visit our website www.toledorep.org to learn more and to order your tickets.

Here's the lineup...
Fun Home (September 14-30)
Slasher (October 26-November 4)
A Christmas Carol (November 30-December 2)
Bus Stop (January 11-20)
August Wilson's Fences ( March 1-10)
A Flea in Her Ear (April 5-14)
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (May 31-June 16)

That's three musicals, two dramas, and two comedies; a cross-section of recent  Broadway hits and beloved classics; productions that have graced The Rep stage before  and productions that will be making their Toledo debut. Something, in short, for  everyone.

Our first Mainstage show of the upcoming season opens in September, but we're  keeping very busy in the meantime with Young Rep Ed Summer Camps and two terrific musical  productions for young people. From July 16 - 20, our Young Rep Ed program is offering "Broadway: Best of  the West End," a fun and educational camp for ages 7-16. There's a mix of singing,  dancing, and acting. Camp is in session from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., with a free  showcase, open to the public, at 3:15 p.m. on Friday afternoon. The same schedule applies to our  second July camp, "Creating Theatre: Onstage/Offstage/Backstage," July 23-27.  Students will learn about several aspects of theatre and form their own small theatre  companies, performing at 3:15 p.m. on Friday afternoon.

Our summer Young Rep productions are:  Heathers the Musical (High School Edition), July 12-15. A darkly delicious new musical based on the 90s cult classic, performed by our Young Rep teens, ages 14-19. From August 2-5 our youngest Young Rep actors, ages 7-13, perform  Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr . Inspired by the Emmy Award-winning cartoon, with those memorable educational songs including "Just a Bill" and "Conjunction Junction".

Finally, I'm pleased to announce that The Rep recently was honored with the 2018 "Spirit of Community Theatre" Award, presented by the Ohio Community Theatre Association. We are so pleased with that recognition, and in that spirit, if there's something you'd like to see produced on our 10th Street Stage or offered as a class or workshop or brought to your venue, we're open to suggestions. Call (419) 243-9277 or visit our user-friendly web site - www.toledorep.org - for more information.

S ee you at the theatre.

Heathers the Musical (High School Edition)
Book, Music and Lyrics by Kevin Murphy & Laurance O'Keefe
Based on the film written by Daniel Waters
Directed by Vicki Monhollen
Sponsored by Ye Olde Durty Bird

July 12, 13 & 14 at 7:00pm
July 15 at 2:30pm
Young Rep Teen Musical, Ages 14-19

Based on the classic 1989 film,  Heathers the Musical (High School Edition) is the darkly delicious story of Veronica Sawyer, a brainy, beautiful teenage misfit who hustles her way into the most powerful group of shoulder-padded, scrunchie-wearing girls at Westerberg High. The Heathers are the hottest, cruelest, most ruthless clique in all of Ohio, but before Veronica can get comfortable atop the high school food chain, she falls in love with the dangerously handsome new kid J.D. When Heather Chandler, the Almighty, kicks her out of the group, Veronica and J.D. decide to put the Heathers in their place-six feet under. The New York Times calls this hilarious, heartfelt, and homicidal new musical "a rowdy guilty pleasure," and Variety raves, " Heathers the Musical should score with just about everyone."

Theatre Camps Invite Children to Shine

In the Toledo Repertoire Theatre's 2018 Young Rep Summer Camps, children ages 7 to 16 can have fun in sessions that go from hit movies to Broadway, to London's West End, or backstage to see how shows come together.

"We always strive to make our camps very accessible," said Chris McAnall, chairman of the Education Committee. "Our instructors are great at working with all students, no matter what level of experience they are at. Our camp themes are very engaging and we think kids are going to have a lot of fun with the ones that were chosen.

"We truly believe that stage skills are life skills. Students will develop stage presence, self-confidence, communication skills, and respect for other performers and their creativity."

ADULT REP ED
"AUDITIONS!"

Our first Adult Rep Ed session of "AUDITIONS!" taught by the talented Fran Martone was a sold out success! Students were taught how nerve-wracking auditions can be creative treasures and were given the tools and confidence to make them so. In this class the students worked on monologues, sides, and cold reads, learning tips and techniques that would allow them to shine. They discovered the importance of making strong choices and the necessity of learning to decipher "director speak."
