6 Reasons to Support Your Community Triathlon
When temperatures are still hovering above freezing, local community triathlon race directors are working on their event checklists, fine-tuning details such as ordering finisher medals, t-shirts and awards, as well as ramping up messaging to boost awareness. These directors take their jobs seriously, pouring in hours of preparation and planning to provide a positive, festive atmosphere in their park district that will appeal to newbie and seasoned athletes alike.
Aside from appreciating the amount of work that goes into these events, participating in a local triathlon as either an athlete, spectator, volunteer or sponsor delivers several benefits.

I Rode an eBike Down the Lakefront Trail, and This is What I Thought
With Chicago’s
Bike to Work Challenge
in full swing until June 29, many public transportation or car commuters in the city may be opened up to the joys of riding their bikes to work; not only do you get to avoid traffic, but you can get some exercise in before your day even starts. With Chicago’s
200 miles of protected bike lanes
and the new separation of the Lakefront Trail, the routes for cyclists are endless.
However, maybe you don’t want to show up to work sweating, or find that navigating the crowds in the Loop is more stressful than driving on Michigan Avenue. That’s where electronic bikes, or eBikes, can come in handy.
Read our first-person perspective on eBikes after trying out the fancy Trek Commuter.
