Christmas Mass Registration
Due to COVID restrictions, the number of reservations is very limited. 
Please understand that priority will be given to registered parishioners.  

There is still space for the 6pm Vigil Christmas Eve Mass and the Christmas Day 10:30am Mass.  Registration will close on Friday, December 18th.  Click on the links below or call the Parish office and leave a message at 206-782-2810.
You will receive confirmation by Tuesday, December 22nd.
Christmas Eve Vigil at 6pm
(The 4pm Vigil is already at capacity.)

This year, because we are not able to gather for our Parish Reconciliation service, Father will be offering Reconciliation for 30 minutes after each weekday Mass and 30 minutes before each weekend Mass through December 20th.  You do not need to make an appointment.  

Wednesdays and Thursdays at 3:45pm.
Saturdays at 4:30pm
Sundays at 10:00am

Please wear a mask and sit in the back rows of the church
until Father is ready for you. 
Advent Giving Tree

THE GIVING TREE DEADLINE IS MONDAY, DECEMBER 21!

This year, we will have two Advent Giving Trees. One is in the back of the church, and one in the Parish Office.

There are two options for you to donate:
1. 1. Pick up your ornaments at the Saturday Mass at 5pm or Sunday Mass at 10:30am this weekend. Return your items to the Parish office Monday, December 21st.  
2. No need to pick up an ornament. Choose an item(s) from the list attached and drop them off at the Church during Mass times or the Parish Office on Monday, December 21st.
 
PLEASE DONATE UNWRAPPED GIFTS BY MONDAY, DECEMBER 21. 
 
Thank you so much for your generosity in making this a wonderful Christmas for the homeless and needy in our community. This year your donations will be supporting: Noel House, St Martin de Porres and Broadview-Thomson K-8 Food Program.

2021 Is Upon Us!
Make Your Stewardship Pledge TODAY!

2021 is on the horizon. What a year 2020 has been. As we look forward to some relief in the coming year, take a moment to reflect on what we have done this past year. We came together and took on the incredible challenge of remaining engaged and committed to St. John Parish, all while continuing to remain socially distant. This is a testament to the strength of this community and the faith in God that there will soon be relief to so many who are hurting.
Although we have hope that the coming year will bring back a sense of normalcy, we also need to continue our financial support-now more than ever. As you know, the weekly offertory helps to sustain our parish financially to be able to serve the ministries of St. John and the wider community.  
Because of the pandemic, our budget shortfalls have been significant and your commitment to sacrificial giving is especially important in the coming year! Please take a moment to prayerfully discern your financial pledge for the coming year and know that each and every gift is greatly appreciated.

Archbishop Paul D. Etienne will ordain 21 men to the permanent diaconate.
This will be the first class of permanent deacons ordained for the archdiocese since 2012. The discernment process for this class began in 2015.

St John Book (sometimes movie) Club
"Silence" is a film by Martin Martin Scorsese and book by Shusaku Endo about 17th-century Jesuit missionaries in Japan who travel there to track down their mentor, a fellow priest. At the time, Christianity was banned in Japan, and those who practiced the faith were tortured and executed. Tens of thousands of Japanese Christians were persecuted, tortured and killed over the 250 years that the religion was outlawed. The two priests are forced to choose between apostasy and death. Read the book or watch the film, and join the book, sometimes movie, club on January 17th at 7:00 PM via Zoom.

Walk humbly with God...
How does this theme look in our families, school, and community?
We can walk humbly with God through the beatitudes! In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus taught His disciples (and us) about how to be perfectly happy (Heaven with God). In other words, He taught us how, in our earthly lives, we can live out the purpose for which God made us. Jesus taught us 8 ways of living called Beatitudes, so that we can begin to be perfectly happy with God in Heaven.
Each month we will focus on one beatitude and how everyday saints, like you and me, can live out this beatitude.


Beatitude of the month
"Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land."

The meek are people who are humble and patient.
A person who chooses other ways to resolve conflicts without
resorting to violence is meek. The reward is great wealth.
How do we resolve conflict in our families? 


Daisies are bright spots in any field. People who
leave them to grow soon discover that they can quickly take over an entire field creating a sight to behold. Daisies can remind us that kindness and gentleness are much more effective than forcefulness. Those who are meek will conquer evil and inherit the earth.
