2018 Mail Center of the Year

IDS has been recognized, again, for the third time, from the In-Plant Printing and Mail Association (IPMA) as the
2018 Mail Center of the Year!

Each year, a team of IDS employees heads to the Print and Mail industries premier educational In-Plant Print and Mail Association conference. This year, the 2018 IPMA conference took place in Costa Mesa, CA, during the second week of June. There were several educational sessions and round tables for the IDS team attending to gain more knowledge from the industries leaders and network with the best in the business.

One of the highlights of the conference is the Awards Ceremony. This is where all the in-plants from around the nation recognize achievements of their peers and how each plant has been creative in their talents with their print and mail organizations.

To compete for an award in this highly competitive industry is quite a challenge and IDS Print & Mail Operations came out on top this year, and greatly deserving! The Mail Center of the Year Award is to recognize an entire corporate mail center for outstanding improvements to processes and procedures related to mail and mail handling. IDS showcased the partnership with municipalities concerning the printing and mailing of their utility invoices instead of outsourcing, as well as evaluating their current processes and recommend changes. It was quite the project to embark on and proved to be very successful, so to be recognized by IPMA has been a great accomplishment -- well done Print and Mail Team!

IDS was also recognized with a Silver Award for the 2018 Wall Calendar, which has been a top contender for the last seven years. The calendar is a unique piece due to it being an internal employee focused project. Everyone at IDS takes pride each year when it's time to do the next issue and is always striving to make it better each time.

IDS is proud of the teams that make all this possible and for their great achievements. Mike Lincoln, Colorado State Printer/IDS Northern Regional Manager, was excited to receive and bring back the physical awards from the conference to s how everyone their accomplishments... and add to the overflowing showcase
