The Museum is proud to offer training to educators on reducing bias and racism in their
classrooms. Looking at these issues through the lens of the Holocaust and antisemitism
connects the history we study with our world today.

After pairing together local teen leaders and Holocaust survivors to share and learn
together, the Museum recently ended its pilot program, Legacies of the Holocaust: A
Community Memory Project. Participants created meaningful songs and art to carry on
the memory of the survivors for generations to come.

The Museum received hundreds of entries from middle and high school students
for the 22nd Annual Siegelbaum Literary and Visual Arts Competition on Resilience
during the Holocaust. Winners and their families were invited to a reception at the
Museum celebrating their creativity and commitment to Holocaust memory.

Wrapping up the 2017-2018 school year, HMCTE President Paul Galan was invited to
speak at Valley Middle School. Paul shared his incredible story of survival with 250
students, followed by an engaging and insightful discussion. We are grateful to Paul
and all the members of our Speakers Bureau for their dedication to educating our
community's young people!
