Good Earth
More Than a Store

Good Earth is a local, family owned produce and garden center that specializes in providing the freshest and tastiest local fruits, veggies, clean meats, free range eggs, and dairy from local farmers. We also support local bakers, families, and artisans by selling amazing homemade breads, casseroles and sweets, oils, jarred goodies, dried goods, soaps, candles, and oh so much more! Over the years, our faithful customers have repeatedly requested non-local produce that cannot be grown in our area, so we provide these products too. This time of year, you'll find our greenhouse full of gorgeous ready- to-plant spring flowers, hanging baskets, herbs, and veggies as well as houseplants and succulents. You can get almost anything else on-line or at the big box stores, but get the freshest produce and most beautiful plants right here at Good Earth. Experience the CSRA's little secret that's not a secret anymore! We were voted Best Produce 2018 by readers of the Augusta Magazine and are One of the Top 10 Best Farmers Markets in Georgia according to Yelp!

Cukes! One of Mother Nature's Medicinal Veggies!!
Cynthia F Catts,  RD, LD

One of the most effective natural diuretics is the commonly overlooked cucumber!! Cucumbers contain the elements sulfur and silicon, both of which promote urination. When we urinate more, we more efficiently remove uric acid from our blood (a build up of uric acid is what can cause gout pain). When we urinate more, we also pull excess fluid from interstitial spaces where we retain fluid like under our eyes and around our ankles (from that high sodium meal that we ate the night before). Cucumbers also inhibit the production of nitric acid and certain inflammatory enzymes which generally contribute to swelling. At Good Earth, our crispy cukes are loaded with water and potassium and super low in sodium. Eating some every day in a salad or a sandwich, or enjoying the refreshing taste of water infused with cucumber slices, is an addition to a very healthy diet. Besides, a medium cucumber only has a miniscule 16 calories! Reducing fluid retention by eating cucumbers, watching your sodium intake, and drinking plenty of water every day will keep the urinary tract healthy and will subsequently promote a healthier blood pressure.
The Farmer's Market
A Celebration of Spring

Whether you enjoyed azaleas and pimento cheese on the green, gin and tonics and a week away from home, or you just sat in traffic on Washington Road all week, we've almost reached the 19th hole here in Augusta! As always, we're here to remind you not to rest on your laurels for too long because it's just about time to take off the visor and put on the Easter bonnet. Whatever your traditions look like, Easter means gathering good family and good food, and we can help with the latter here at Good Earth! We have everything you need for a full day of snacks, sides, desserts, and more. Our local, free-range eggs come in a multitude of gorgeous hues and are perfect for painting, hard-boiling, or deviling. Our asparagus is fresh and tender, delicious in tarts or salad. Our NEW house-made potato salad is knock-your-socks-off good and is such an easy side dish to carry to the in-law's. Local strawberries are still in season and come together beautifully in a fresh afternoon cocktail or fruit salad. Plus, don't forget to put in your orders for one of our amazing fresh, home-made cakes, perfect for inducing a blissful state of lethargy after a leisurely afternoon luncheon! It's a season of new beginnings, and there's no better way to celebrate than with a bounty of fresh spring produce and the beauty of time spent with friends and family.

Your Favorite Spring Bloomers

No holiday meal is complete without the appropriate setting, and the garden center is fully stocked to help set an amazing stage for your Easter celebrations. When it comes to spring flowers, you want color that lasts, and choosing one of our pots or hanging baskets for your porch or patio is a no-brainer. The hardest part is choosing, but it starts with knowing your space! If you have an area that gets 6 or more hours of sun a day, you can't go wrong with a geranium or petunia. These sweet spring bloomers give you tons of color, are fairly drought tolerant, and only need the occasional dead-heading to stay fresh! For an area with shade or morning sun, New Guinea impatiens are one of our biggest crowd-pleasers. Gushing with huge blooms in the most vibrant colors, these pots and baskets are pure spring magic and can transform any space in a heartbeat. Though they prefer afternoon shade (don't we all?), New Guineas are still up for the challenge and will perform beautifully as long they get plenty of deep, thorough waterings. Don't be alarmed by a wilted plant! New Guineas will droop rather dramatically if they accidentally get too thirsty, but they'll pop right back shortly after being watered. As always, trucks are still arriving daily, so check back often to see what new colors and varieties we have in store!
