And all of a sudden...
The sun is gone, the clouds are overhead, and the ground is covered with snow. This is when we need our colorful fabric world the most. When we look out the window, and there is no brightness, no spark, we have to look for it elsewhere. For quilters, we walk into our sewing rooms, or we open drawers, lift blinds, open closets - we look for our lovely, beautiful, happy fabrics. They inspire, and they challenge. What beautiful thing can we make today? What quilt has been on our bucket list, waiting for the right time to begin? What fun online project has caught our interest? As we trudge (literally) into winter, these are the things that keep us moving forward. If you're ever in need of a shot of color, make sure you stop in and see us at Yankee Pride. The first thing you see when you come into the shop (from either door) is bright, happy fabrics. It doesn't matter what your favorite color is - we have it in stock, somewhere in the store. Stop in, take a few minutes, and take it all in. You'll feel better.

Block-of-the-Month with Yankee Pride
Block of the month projects are popular all over the world, and we've decided to get in on the fun. Marti and Deanna are your guides through the two projects we've chosen. Click on the links below for more information, but there is no website signup for these BOM programs - you'll have to call or stop in!

Summer Moon, from Moda designer Carrie Nelson, is a 12-month sampler quilt, featuring both 30s and contemporary fabrics to create a summery feel. It's a great project for learning new techniques, as you'll be making blocks in three different sizes.

Christmas Figs is from the designers at Fig Tree Quilts. Deanna has chosen red, green, and white fabrics to use, but this quilt does not have to be all about Christmas! This BOM is also a good project if you want to improve your technique. You'll be making classic quilt blocks one at a time, in no rush!

Recent Fabric Arrivals

These are the highlights of recent arrivals. Click on the photo for a closeup, and click here if you're interested in purchasing any of these fabrics by the yard on our website:

Milestones

from Kansas Troubles

by Moda

These are some wonderful mostly tone-on-tone prints from our friends at Kansas Troubles. Tuck them into your growing stash, or use them on their own to start a new project today!

Watts River

from Max & Louise

by Andover

Shirtings can be such fun to add to your quilts. Designs like the galloping horses (left and right in photo) really catch people's eye, and stop them in their tracks. Add one to your quilt - you'll see!

Breeze

from Zen Chic

by Moda

The colors in this line are supposed to be reminiscent of the coastline - the ocean, the sky, and the clouds. We certainly agree with that, but the motifs on the fabric are saying something else - modern! These are cool and contemporary - they're really great!

Shine Bright

by dear Stella

Oh, these prints are so, so sweet! The yellow stars have smiley faces, the mice are whistling, and pastel colors are everywhere. Make lots of items for a nursery with these.

Various lines

by Robert Kaufman

The new batiks continue to roll in, in gorgeous colors and designs. These are the latest additions - are your hands itching to get started on a new batik project? Ours certainly are!

A to Z Animals

by Robert Kaufman

This fabrics contains a lot more animals than we learned about when we were kids! It's fun, and the colors are great. The panel can just be bordered and quilted, and you'll have an easy, great baby gift to give.

Forest Life and Woodland Fairytale

by dear Stella

Both of these fabrics represent things you find in the forest, but they look completely different! The dark background highlights the animals, and the light background has more of a jumbled feel to it. They both have great colors and motifs - find a fun project to use one or both!

Novelty prints

by Timeless Treasures

There's something about outer space that's so intriguing, whether you're a kid or an adult. That's what makes these fabrics so much fun. Add the science element you need to learn about space exploration (center in photo), and a few bright tone-on-tone prints, and you can make a stunning bag, backpack, or quilt.
