Like San Diegans, powdery mildew loves warm, dry weather, and many ornamentals and edibles are susceptible to this pest.
 
 
The tomatoes I grew last year were attacked by nematodes.

   When I dug up the plants I noticed swollen areas on their roots. How long do nematodes stay in the soil? Can I plant tomatoes in the same area this year?
 
 Coyotes in your neighborhood?

"Coyote Cacher" is part of a UCCE research project that aims to collect more information on coyote encounters in California and discern trends in human-coyote interactions.

San Diego Master Gardener and professional photographer Judith Wolinsky will present The Monarch Butterfly and How to Create a Garden Habitat at the Santee Branch Library, 9225 Carlton Hills Blvd, Ste. 17 from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM.  It's easy to create a garden in the ground or containers and help the monarchs whose numbers have declined dramatically survive and thrive.
