ANNOUNCEMENTS
LIBRARY BOOKS ARE DUE! May 18 is the due date for books checked out from the Main Stacks by students on or before Sunday, May 13. Books may be renewed once online or by bringing them in physically to the circulation desk if you have exceeded the renewal limit. The new due date is June 29, the last day of the first Summer Term. Click on "Library Account" online and sign in with your NorseKey to see what you have checked out and when it is due.

Commissioning Sunday - Graduating seniors will be recognized and blessed on Sunday, May 20 at the 10 a.m. morning worship, with a special recognition of those who will be pursuing theological education or service in the church and community after graduation. If you will be able to participate in the service, please email  [email protected]. If you know your future plans (even if they are tentative) include that information as well.

Moo Mobile and Pie a Prof 2018:  Join SAC Special Events and Alpha Phi Omega Saturday, May 19, 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Library Lawn for milkshakes, lawn games, and the chance to pie profs. 1 Milkshake is free with CAF or $2 without, "pies" are $1 each.  

Retirement Open House - After a combined 55 years of teaching at Luther College (that is c. 365 courses, c. 7,370 students, c. 2,277 Paideia research papers, and c. 495 faculty meetings) Jackie Wilkie and Edward Tebbenhoff are retiring. Please join the History Department for an open house in their honor, Saturday, May 19, 3-5 p.m. in Qualley Lounge, CFL. RSVP not required, but appreciated. Contact Heather Frey.
 
2018 Peace Scholars
- The Center for Ethics and Public Engagement is pleased to announce the Luther College Peace Scholars for 2018: Rebecka Green '19 and Max Eness '20.  Rebecka and Max will join other Peace Scholars from the U.S. in Lillehammer, Norway, for a week-long workshop at the Nansen Center for Peace and Dialogue. They will then spend five weeks participating in the International Summer School at the University of Oslo. Congratulations to them both!

Check out the lost & found table in the front lobby of the Center for Faith and Life. Lots of water bottles, and many misc. items.

Root Beer Float Study Break - Take a break from finals studying and float on by to enjoy a cool treat and some company with friends. Join us out front of the Union (rain location inside) on Wednesday, May 16 starting at 3:30 p.m. (available until we run out) and receive a free root beer float courtesy of Counseling Service and Diversity Center.

Servant Grants  - Seniors who are planning on serving as a full-time volunteer for minimal or no compensation next year may be eligible to receive a Servant Grant from Luther College's student Congregation Council for support. If interested, please email [email protected] with a brief description of your placement and the organization you will service next year. Please reply by Sunday, May 20.
 
Seeking volunteer faculty, staff, students, and others to help with a potential Luther College Historic District designation. The requirements are enthusiasm for the college history and its buildings and some free hours between now and September 1, 2018.  Guidance/training will be provided. Some students may qualify for research/workstudy support. Contact project co-coordinators, Mark Z. Muggli, professor emeritus of English, or Ryan Engelman, assistant director of student activities.
