Hope Still Blooms

As we are coming out of one of the most challenging winters in recent years, I caught a glimpse of some perennials fighting to push through the hard earth. The perseverance and resilience of these little flowers  made me think of Haven Housing.

In 2019, we learned that homelessness in Minnesota has increased 10 percent . Each night there are over 10,200 people experiencing homelessness in Minnesota , and children and youth are the most likely to be homeless. Additionally, local rental prices continue to increase, which drastically reduces the availability of safe, affordable housing. The needs of the women and children at Haven Housing have continued to increase, but our government funding has remained relatively stagnant, creating more disparity than ever before.

Yet, despite what may seem like overwhelming challenges, Haven Housing presses on. Rather than feeling despair, we adapt. We persevere. We find resilience. We remain a leading voice and a champion for women and women-led families experiencing homelessness. We choose hope.
  • Hope, that our programs are healing the effects of trauma.
  • Hope, that each woman and child we serve is experiencing a supportive community and finding strength to press on.
  • Hope, that the generational cycle of poverty is being broken.
  • And Hope, that at the end of the day, the lives of our residents are being transformed.
Will you join us in our mission to provide hope, one life at a time?

A large percent of women residing at Haven Housing report having been a victim of sexual violence.

The programs at Haven Housing provide our residents with a safe community, often for the first time in their lives. Our women are empowered to speak their truth with boldness.

At Haven Housing our residents find acceptance and healing when they can unashamedly share #metoo.

Please partner with Haven Housing in our fight against Sexual Violence.
