April 2019
Dear Habitat Friend,

March surely did not disappoint in being an exciting month! We held the dedication for the School Street, Acton homes on March 16th and it was a wonderful celebration of the many volunteers, donors and supporters who helped renovate these two homes. The dedication was followed by the closings on the homes on March 22nd. A very big thank you to the Law Office of David Rocheford for conducting the closings and to the amazing Acton Local Project Committee for their commitment to the project and all of their work to make the houses into homes. The Sunshine and Lubega families are thrilled to be in their new homes and thank all of you as well for donating your time and talents over the last year!

And now on to Ashburnham! We will be starting work this month on preparing the site and clearing the driveways. We will be raising the walls in June and will start that effort with a Women Build week. This is one of my favorite build weeks of the year and I know our former Women Builders agree!

I hope you will join us at our two events coming up in May. The annual Spring Breakfast is planned for May 8th from 7:30-8:30 a.m. at The First Parish of Bolton. We are thrilled to have local author Marian McMahon Stanley joining us as a keynote speaker and will be recognizing key volunteers and supporters. The link to sign up is below. Also, the Ashburnham Local Project Committee has planned a meat raffle for May 18th from 2:00-5:00 pm at the American Legion Hall so plan to join us then as well. You can stock up for your Memorial Day weekend barbecue while helping us buy materials for the new homes!

One final word of thanks to the many supporters who donated to our 30 in 30 campaign. Because of you we have the funds to start our next build project, and we are ever so grateful for the donations and matching funds. Your generosity and kindness keep us building!

In partnership and gratitude,
Carolyn

A Visit to the ReStore
The ReStore is our discount home improvement center. We accept donations of new and gently used items from individuals and local businesses, and sell to the public at a reduced cost, usually 50-70% of the original retail value. All profits support home ownership for hard working, low income families in North Central Massachusetts, while keeping good, reusable materials in use and out of the landfill.
Open Wednesday through Saturday, 10am-5pm.
