977 Rock is seeking a Sales Co-ordinator based out of the Grande Prairie location. Reporting to the General Sales Manager, the right candidate will be an integral part of the operation closely supporting the sales team, coordinating various office administration tasks, as well as handle all phone calls and greet all visitors at reception, while providing key support to the GSM. Responsibilities:
  • Direct inbound calls using a multi-line phone system in a pleasant, professional, and upbeat manner
  • Greet guests
  • Distribute prizes to on-air contest winners
  • Collate and process incoming/outgoing mail, courier deliveries and faxes
  • Organize boardroom bookings, catering and conference code updates
  • Support sales team, including radio bookings and the creation and updating of station sales materials
  • Plan and organize client special events for staff and clients and listeners
  • Order and maintenance of stationary, supplies, office equipment and office area
  • Other administrative support duties and special projects as needed
  • Greet, assess and pro-actively respond to customer needs
  • Retrieve and forward all overnight messages, and throughout the day
  • Provide listeners with current promotions information
  • Maintain contest winner database.
  • Attend and take notes during sales meeting
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Qualifications:
  • At least two years of office experience
  • Certificate or Diploma in Office Administration program would be an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Friendly and professional with a "can-do" attitude
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to adjust to changing work priorities
  • Outgoing and effective team player, contributing to a positive work environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Flexible and willingness to learn new things
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Pro-active team player with an eagerness to learn new skills
  • Ability to use Photo Shop and asset

The Centre for Public Legal Education Alberta (CPLEA) is joining the City of Grande Prairie's Community Social Development department on May 22, 2018 for a presentation on their Domestic Violence Toolkit for Landlords.
 
Event Details
 
Date: May 22.
Time: 11:45 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Location: Stonebridge Hotel, 12102 - 100 Street, Grande Prairie, Alberta.
Cost: $10.00 per ticket (purchase at Community Social Development located at 10030 102 Ave.).
 
Purchase tickets by: May 16 2018 .
 
Tickets include lunch, the presentation, a question and answer period and a physical copy of the toolkit.
 
All interested landlords and members of the public are welcome to attend.
 
About the Presentation
 
The Domestic Violence Toolkit for Landlords presentation is part of a CPLEA project to help victims of domestic violence. It intends to raise awareness of resources and services that landlords can use to prevent and respond to domestic violence on their premises.
 
The toolkit was published in April 2018 and is designed for landlords, property managers and anyone else who works on-site or has access to a residential rental unit. It includes:
  • Information on how to help prevent domestic violence
  • What to do when domestic violence occurs
  • A list of services tenants can call for help
  • A list of agencies to contact for more information about domestic violence
  • A list of educational resources to learn more about domestic violence
 
It was created through partnerships with Calgary Residential Rental Association, Stop Abuse in Families, and the Alberta Council of Women's Shelters as well as all the landlords, property managers and domestic violence agencies that supported the project. Funding was made possible by the Alberta Status of Women.
 
Guest Speakers
 
Guest speakers include Lois Gander, professor at the University of Alberta whose legal research has focus on assisting landlords prevent and address domestic violence on their premises, and Jeff Surtes, Executive Director of CPLEA with nearly 30 years experience in the legal and non-profit sector helping people understand laws that affect their lives.
