Thank you to all faculty who participated in our Core Principles of Interprofessional Practice Session #2! Our interprofessional education program continues to grow and welcome new teachers. We spoke with Kai Kennedy, PT, DPT, Katherine Gruenberg, PharmD, and Mia Williams, MD, MS to learn more about their work and why they are a part of interprofessional education. more
The Dyad project responds to two growing needs: a shortage of California mental health providers in California and clinicians who deeply understand how to work as a team. Read more about this SON and SOP partnership wi th the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education and others.
Clinical Elective for Senior Care
Faculty and students from SOP, physical therapy, and SON (Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner) are participating in an interprofessional (IP) clinical elective, supported by Innovations Funding for Education.

This experience takes place over eight weeks at Progress Foundation, specifically the Seniors' Program, on Friday afternoons. The IP team sees one or two clients each week, assisting with health needs including education, medication reconciliation, and treatment of acute issues. The team also plans a group education session for clients once per quarter. Learners discuss important IP concepts and social determinants of health, and debrief on clinical experiences.

This elective complements the Core Principles of Interprofessional Practice Curriculum at UCSF. For more information or to become involved, contact Mandy Peacock
Building a team? On a committee? I encourage everyone to revisit the excellent tipsheets provided by the UCSF Committee on the Status of Women to ensure that UCSF is an inclusive space for women (take 10 Actions).
