The Monthly Jewel
We can't change anything until we get some fresh ideas,
until we begin to see things differently.
~ James Hillman
Kalpana (Rose) M. Kumar, M.D.
During the first half of our life, we adapt to the world around us; first to our families, then our peers, and society at large. Our survival depends upon those adaptations. As we age, however, our authentic Self is often no longer aligned with those adaptations and the compromises necessary to uphold them present as symptoms of anxiety, depression, fatigue, and many other stress related maladies.  The courage to choose a course correction can be one of the most important choices of our life.

Get Energized this Spring!
Shelley Carpenter, PT, RYT, RM

Carving out time on a daily basis to connect with the beauty of nature is a way to quiet our mind and get to a place of present-moment awareness. This is where peace happens.

What Do You Eat for Breakfast?
Maryanne Riege, CHHC

Participate in the "Breakfast Experiment" for one week and find out which foods best serve you and your body.

Grief and Praise
Eric Ehrke, LCSW,LMFT

Eric encourages us to consider the 1,000 year old Mayan traditions which call praise and grief siblings that "share the same bed." Modern society prizes the human intellect, scientific method, and relies on the Internet for information. But something precious has been lost over time, as empathy, intuition, and the role of human connection became devalued. How can we reclaim those roots?
