Children's Programs for December
Children who are not yet in kindergarten can sign up for our year-round  1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program. This is a wonderful program to encourage young children to see reading as a positive experience.
Weekly Children's Programs in December
Read, Sing, Play
Every Monday  at 10:30am

Children birth to 5 years old are invited to join us Monday mornings at 10:30am for story time fun. Directly following story time there will be a craft and open play. Stop in for books, songs, rhymes,  movement activities, and more! 

Bilingual Story Time
Every Tuesday at 10:30am
(We will be closed on Dec.  25th for Christmas)

Children Birth to 5 can come join Ms. Margarita every Tuesday for bilingual story time. We will share stories, songs, and more in English and Spanish. Following story time there will a craft and free play. This program will be held weekly.
After School Adventures
Every Wednesday at 4:00

Children grades K through 3rd can come after school to the library for a snack and craft or activity!


Tween Thursday
Every Thursday at 4:00

Children grades 4th  through 6th can come after school to the library for a snack and craft or activity!


Weekend Children's Programs in December
Brick Builders
Saturday, December 1st at 11:00am

Children ages 5 and up can build a creation of their own design.They can them name it and it will be put on display in the library for a month!


Make and Take
Saturday, December 8th at 11:00am

Children ages 5 and up can come make a craft to then take home!


Read to a Therapy Dog
Saturday, December 8th at 11:30pm to 1:30pm
Children sign up for a 15 minute time slot to read to Ella the therapy dog. Call to sign up!

Movie and Munchies
Saturday, December 17th at 11:00am

Families and children of all ages can visit the library to see a  movie! Children will receive a snack and juice, and are welcome to bring their own snack or lunch.
Family Fun: Holiday!
Saturday, December 22nd at 11:00am

Families and children of all ages can come enjoy crafts surrounding the different holidays including Kwanza, Christmas, and Hanukah!
Special Children's Programs in December
Counting Seashells by the Seashore
Friday, December 7th at 10:30am

Children ages birth to 5 can attend this programs where there will be a new song taught by Kahana Hula.
Dental Hygienist Visit
Tuesday, December 18th at 11:00am

Come for a visit from a Dental Hygienist Visit to talk to kids about cleaning their teeth and they will even get to help brush the teeth of Boo-Boo Bear.
Vacation Programs
Wednesday December 26th through Friday 28th at 2:00pm

Families and children can visit the library for a variety of programming during winter break!

Wednesday
we will be having a Family Day: Come play board games of all kinds in the Children's Department!
Thursday we will be having a Drive-in Movie where kids can decorate cardboard boxes to look like cars and watch a movie in them!
Friday the Denison Nature Center will be coming to show and teach kids about live frogs!
Countdown till Noon
Monday, December 31st at 10:30am

Come ring in the new year with us and enjoy some games and activities. We will also be doing a countdown right before noon!

Museum Passes: Use your library card to check out a museum pass. Click  HERE for more information about which passes are available.

DVDs: Parents, you can now check out up to 5 DVDs total using your adult library card. This means 5 seven day titles or 4 seven day titles and 1 express. Remember, only an adult card can be used to check out DVDs.
