Cooper House - Impacting the Community
In the early 1980s, people diagnosed with the frightening new disease called HIV/AIDS were abandoned by families, shunned by society, and dying alone and homeless. In 1988, St. Louis civic and faith leaders formed DOORWAYS as a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing stable and secure housing as the foundation from which to respond to the issues that accompany poverty, homelessness, and illness—food insecurity, mental health conditions, substance use challenges, limited education, lack of work experience, and so forth. Nice and Warm thanks to NAP
We are grateful to the Missouri Department of Economic Development Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) for awarding tax credits to DOORWAYS to accelerate fundraising efforts! Funds raised allow us to help our clients and their families. For example, the NAP program enabled us to provide coats for dependents of each family in our Jumpstart Program.

Jumpstart, designed for homeless families living with HIV/AIDS in St. Louis, provides vital services that allow parents to maintain independence and provide a safe and stable environment in which they can raise their children.

Thank you NAP and MO DED!

Thank You Wells Fargo
We are honored to have been selected by Wells Fargo as a recipient of one of their 2019/2020 grants! With this funding, we will be able to provide emergency housing to individuals and their family members in housing crisis and battling the effects of HIV/AIDS. This award comes at a critical time, as winter is upon us, which means the number of people in need grows as temperatures drop.

Thank you #WellsFargo!
Home Builders Association Helps Build Ramp
The new emergency exit ramp at Cooper House is complete! It was a significant undertaking to determine the ramp location and specifications to fit the constraints of the existing structure and needs of the residents. As you can see, the project was a success and everyone is happy!

Special thanks to the Home Builder’s Association for their contribution towards this project!
